+ | For players who are very familiar with the loadouts on the J-8B, 85% (6 out of 7) of its available weaponries are identical on both jets, with the PL-8 (licensed Rafael Python-3) being the exception. Due to the lack of radar-guided missiles, some players might find this a huge drawback that they will have to get close enough to enemy jets to even launch IR AAMs at the first place. However, the PL-8 is a game-changer for the J-8F; with not only the best all-aspect locking range among NATO equivalents, J-8F is also equipped with HMD for off-bore launches. A full loadout of 6 x PL-8 can be a nightmare for the enemy team if utilized carefully. The old faithful PL-5B still serves as its stock missiles - although it might be somewhat obsolete at the BR, launches on careless targets can still earn some quick victories. | ||
+ | |||
+ | The ground-attack loadout is totally identical to the J-8B though, with varieties of bombs and rockets at its disposal. Although neither the calibre nor explosive content of the Type 90-1 HEAT rocket is effective for hunting enemy MBTs even with a precise hit, they can still serve as an extra card on hand alongside the -3 series low drag GP bombs or -4 series drag chute retarded bombs. The bombs will certainly be more effective against more valuable targets such as MBTs, while saving rockets for vulnerable SPAA systems and light tanks. | ||

Hey, just putting this comment here. I've been twisting the HTML allowed here on the wiki for the past couple of years and so far, this is the work I've made thus far. https://wiki.warthunder.com/index.php?title=User:U16697154&oldid=16302 If you take a look through the history tab on my page, you can also find all the other nonsense I've been up to. None of which are allowed on the main wiki for the foreseeable future unfortunately.
That being said, feel free to keep experimenting. - KornFlaks (talk) 17:15, 17 April 2019 (UTC)

Belt table
Available ammunition
Default | API-T · HEFI-T* | The belt composition means that 50% of the shells (HEFI-T) are useless against tanks while the other 50% (API-T) is nearly useless against planes. However, this belt is reliable against open-topped or thin-skinned vehicles like SPAA vehicles. Since there are no dedicated high-explosive shells for the selection, having one belt of this in reserve does not hurt for those situations. |
---|---|---|
PzGr | API-T | This belt offers a good transition from the Default to the PzGr 40 APCR belt. The round offers decent use and damage against lightly armoured tanks, especially at close range. Due to lack of high-explosive filler however, it is better to focus on the PzGr 40 belt to maximize penetration power. |
PzGr 40 | HVAP-T | Probably the best belt with the best penetrating shell for the vehicle. While the damage effects post-penetration can be quite poor, the rapid fire from the autocannon can mitigate this problem by following up quickly with another penetrating shot. In close combat, these shells should be used against modules and crew member to make the most of each shell. Against angled armour, however, the APCR ammo may not be very effective, just like any other APCR shell. |

For players who are very familiar with the loadouts on the J-8B, 85% (6 out of 7) of its available weaponries are identical on both jets, with the PL-8 (licensed Rafael Python-3) being the exception.
The ground-attack loadout is totally identical to the J-8B though, with varieties of bombs and rockets at its disposal.
