Pros and cons
The 9M14 as an early Cold War ATGM is quite adept at taking out almost any vehicle at its battle rating. While the MCLOS guidance system has its quirks; in the right hands it is unstoppable. The main advantage over SACLOS missiles is that one could easily guide the missile over the crest of a hill and destroy enemies who otherwise might go unharmed. The main disadvantage is that you must both guide the missile using the default [Alt + WASD] keys while using the mouse to move the gunsight to follow moving targets.
Pros:
- Good armor penetration
- Ability to take out targets behind hills
Cons:
- Guidance takes time to learn
- Hard to hit fast moving targets
- Must maintain sight picture while guiding missile to target
History
Examine the history of the creation and combat usage of the weapon in more detail than in the introduction. If the historical reference turns out to be too long, take it to a separate article, taking a link to the article about the weapon and adding a block "/History" (example: https://wiki.warthunder.com/(Weapon-name)/History) and add a link to it here using the main
template. Be sure to reference text and sources by using <ref></ref>
, as well as adding them at the end of the article with <references />
.
Media
Excellent additions to the article would be video guides, screenshots from the game, and photos.
