Description
The PARS 3 LR is the only air-to-ground missile in the game to receive a "fire-and-forget" system to guide the missile. This means that the missile can be fired at a target and does not need to be kept visually locked on while in flight, similar to many Air-to-air missiles. This makes it especially useful to operate it using cover, as the platform is able to fire off the missiles and quickly duck into cover before the target is able to retaliate.

General info
Missile characteristics | |
---|---|
Mass | 49 kg |
Guidance | IR |
Lock range | 20 km |
Launch range | 7 km |
Max speed | 0.9 M |
Explosive mass | 3.7 kg TNTe |
Effective damage
Describe the type of damage produced by this type of missile (high explosive, splash damage, etc)
Comparison with analogues
These missiles arguably perform better than the PARS 3 LR in the ground-attack role, but come with the obvious disadvantage of not having a fire-and-forget system and must be guided manually.
Usage in battles
Describe situations when you would utilise this missile in-game (vehicle, pillbox, base, etc)
Pros and cons
Pros:
- Decent launch range
- Decent explosive mass
- Fire and forget system
Cons:
- Very limited usage against air targets
- No proximity fuse, must make contact with the target to trigger
History
Examine the history of the creation and combat usage of the weapon in more detail than in the introduction. If the historical reference turns out to be too long, take it to a separate article, taking a link to the article about the weapon and adding a block "/History" (example: https://wiki.warthunder.com/(Weapon-name)/History) and add a link to it here using the main
template. Be sure to reference text and sources by using <ref></ref>
, as well as adding them at the end of the article with <references />
.
Media
Excellent additions to the article would be video guides, screenshots from the game, and photos.
