Comparison with analogues
Usage in battles
The Matra Super 530D missile is used for intercepting targets at high altitude or head on situations. Due to its great acceleration and speed, coupled by its high G overload, the 530D can be a tough missile to shake off. With the Mirage 2000C being the only carrier of this missile, low altitude engagements and dogfights are no problem for both the missile and the plane. With the 530D using Continuous Wave Signal, the seeker can defeat chaff and still guide to its target, if you are using the radar in regular search mode, though it is not a guarantee that it will always hit a target.
Pros and cons
Pros:
- Excellent tracking
- Fast acceleration and speed, comparable to the Aspide-1A
- Large warhead, taking down any opponent in one hit
- Uses Continuous Wave Signal, unlike its predecessor using Pulse Signal.
- High G load
Cons:
- Heavy missile compared to its American and Russian counterpart
- Missile range is subpar for longer range engagements compared to its American counterpart.
- Missile capability can be limited by radar
History
Examine the history of the creation and combat usage of the weapon in more detail than in the introduction. If the historical reference turns out to be too long, take it to a separate article, taking a link to the article about the weapon and adding a block "/History" (example: https://wiki.warthunder.com/(Weapon-name)/History) and add a link to it here using the main
template. Be sure to reference text and sources by using <ref></ref>
, as well as adding them at the end of the article with <references />
.
Media
Excellent additions to the article would be video guides, screenshots from the game, and photos.
