Description
The Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-19 is a Soviet second-generation, single-seat, twinjet fighter aircraft put into service in 1955, it was the world's first supersonic aircraft put into mass-production. It was also produced under licence in China as the Shenyang J-6 and Czechoslovakia as the Aero S-105. It served more than 15 countries with the main operators being the Soviet Union, China, North Korea, Egypt and Vietnam. The MiG-19 saw action most notably in the Vietnam War, the Six-Day War and the Yom Kippur War.
