I am '''Shootsave'''. I'm a USSR main (7.7 Ground, 9.7 Air) and have been playing the game since 2019. My personal interests in War Thunder is to own every USSR vehicle, including the event and premiums. War Thunder is the only current game i actively play and after going to the WT Wikipedia on a daily basis i discovered some vehicles lacked or didn't have proper information on them, so that's where i decided to start writing on them. I started editing on the wiki starting '''November 3rd 2022 (3/11/2022)'''.

I did some work a bit on the WT Live and made a custom skin, but due to lack of time and difficulties i can't really work on it. Further than that i barely go to the forums and most of the times my questions are answered by itself after a bit of digging.

As a dedicated player of War Thunder, I have also had the opportunity to create a custom skin for the WT Live platform, although my time and other commitments have limited my ability to continue working on it. In addition to playing the game, I also take the time to research and seek answers to any questions I may have about War Thunder, even if it means digging through forums and other resources. === Goals ===
My main goals for the War Thunder wiki is to add information to the USSR vehicles that lack it or have improper (in my opinion) information about them. Next to that I'm going to write about Vehicles i suggest to be added in the future to the game, and how it could be implemented. And next to those official stuff i'm going to write about unofficial stuff like my self-made game modes for custom battles, or funny ways you could use specific vehicles that otherwise obviously wouldn't get accepted to be added to the vehicle page because of its meme, dumb usage or absolute non war thunder related. Those would be my goals for my personal page.

As a passionate player of War Thunder, I have a strong interest in the in-game USSR vehicles and their history. My goal for the War Thunder Wikipedia is to improve the accuracy and completeness of information about these vehicles, as well as to suggest new vehicles for possible inclusion in the game. In addition to my official contributions, I also enjoy exploring unconventional or humorous uses for certain vehicles and sharing my ideas with the community. Ultimately, my aim is to contribute valuable and engaging content to the War Thunder community.

MiG-25P

Information and history

The MiG-25 (NATO reporting name: Foxbat) is a high-altitude, supersonic interceptor and reconnaissance aircraft designed and built by the Mikoyan-Gurevich design bureau in the Soviet Union. The MiG-25P (P stands for "Perekhvatchik," the Russian word for interceptor) is a version of the MiG-25 that was specifically designed for air defense and intercepting enemy aircraft.

The MiG-25P has a number of features that make it well-suited for its role as an interceptor. It is powered by two massive Tumansky R-15BD-300 engines, which give it a top speed of over 2,500 kilometers per hour and a maximum altitude of more than 20,000 meters. It is equipped with a powerful radar and a variety of air-to-air missiles, including the R-40, R-73, R-23 and R-60 missiles.

The MiG-25P was introduced in 1970 and saw service with the Soviet Air Defense Forces until the late 1980s. It was also exported to several other countries, including India, Iraq, and Syria. A total of 835 MiG-25Ps were built, with many of them remaining in service with various countries today. The aircraft has a reputation for being fast and agile, but also for having limited range and relatively poor performance at low altitudes.

Implementation into war thunder

The MiG-25P has a similar play style as the F-14A Early with it's AIM-54A Phoenix. This vehicle would be alright if implemented to 11.7 BR as even if it was to play on 10.7/11.0 matches it would dominate in long to medium ranges. But on the other hand in short range engages this vehicle would be a easy target, it has no offensive armament there for it has only access to missiles for close range encounters. Next to that it has a poor turning rate as its main ability (just like the Su-7 Family for example) is speed, it can go very fast but turning isn't the things its best capable of. It also has access to a new missiles called the R-40 and the R-73. That are both superior any current existing long and short range AAM. In mixed battles the MiG-25P would be useless against ground targets, as it has access to only AAM for interception. But to intercept helicopters, drones and enemy planes, The MiG-25P would be perfect.

As for where i think it should be implemented, i personally thought after the MiG-27 family would be a good spot as those jets we're used like interceptors in air battles in WT. As i think after the MiG-23MLD isn't a good spot cause the MiG-23MLD is more of a dog fighter than a interceptor, and both jets have a complete separate play styles and characteristics.

Information and history

The Soviet Tu-160 (NATO reporting name: Blackjack) is a supersonic, variable-sweep wing heavy strategic bomber designed by the Tupolev Design Bureau in the Soviet Union. It was the last strategic bomber designed for the Soviet Union, and is the largest and heaviest Mach 2+ supersonic military aircraft ever built. It is also the largest and heaviest combat aircraft, the fastest bomber currently in use, and the largest and heaviest variable-sweep wing airplane ever flown.

The Tu-160 was designed to carry nuclear weapons and was intended to be used as a long-range strategic bomber. It has a range of over 12,000 kilometers and can carry a variety of missiles and bombs, including cruise missiles and free-fall nuclear bombs. The Tu-160 has a crew of four and is equipped with a defensive suite that includes radar warning receivers, infrared jammers, and chaff and flare dispensers.

The Tu-160 entered service with the Soviet Air Force in 1987 and has been in continuous service since. It has undergone several modernizations and upgrades over the years, including the addition of new avionics and weapons systems. A total of 35 Tu-160s have been built, with most of them still in service with the Russian Air Force.

made-up games for Custom Battles

Pe-8 Capture

A game mode where the SPAA needs to capture the Pe-8's point and avoid the FAB-5000 that is put on a 8 second detonation timer. You're essentially driving a Tier I-IV SPAA of any country, shooting at the Pe-8 in hopes to take it down as you try to progress you're way to its point. It might seem impossible but with more numbers you have a higher chance to succeed. But at the same time there is a limit, for every 3 SPAA's there is 1 Pe-8: Otherwise obviously the Pe-8 will be overwhelmed. The Pe-8 can reload its bombs, shoot back using its turrets: that keeps the gameplay up and intensely fun. there are no spawn limits for both teams, but there is a time limit. I personally keep it on 30 minutes but everyone may choose how long they wish for this to last.

Requirements:

  • Pe-8 or any other Bomber with similar characteristics (carries 1 large bomb)
  • SPAA's of Tier I-IV
  • Medium or Long range map to make it more challenging

Hide and Overpressure

A game mode where there is a seeker, a scouter and a hider (just like hide and seek basically). The seeker can be any tank but to make it more fun, it must be a tank capable of overpressuring: like the 2S3M, 38 Cm Sturmmörser, KV-2, FV4005 and etc. Then there are scouters, which can drive around in any tank or helicopter in search for the hiders. but they are not allowed to shoot back and only to help the seeker find the hider (but they are allowed to jam the hider from running away by crashing into them or driving against them). Then there are hiders, which are small tanks like the L3/33 CC who hide and are allowed to fight back to both the scouter and the attacker. Essentially when spawned in the seeker and scouter wait until the hiders have hidden, and when hidden: the scouter and seeker are allowed to go find them. The seek limit is 10 minutes.

Requirements

  • Seekers: a vehicle capable of overpressuring with HE or Rockets
  • Scouters: a helicopter or a fast moving vehicle
  • Hiders: a small vehicle that can easily hide in places
  • a map with buildings (example: Berlin)

Tu-4 Kamikaze

A game mode where there is a Tu-4 that needs to survive as long as possible against rampaging kamikaze planes. There are basically planes that are slightly faster than you and are trying to crash into you to kill you, but they are not allowed to shoot you. While you are allowed to make use of you're 10 x NR-23 turrets you have around you're whole bomber to defend yourself from them.

Requirements

  • Tu-4 or B-29
  • Planes that are slightly faster than them

L3/33 CC Ambulance for tanks

L3-33 CC Ambulance.png

My friend Gilli815 has discovered a new way to utilize the L3/33 CC as a ambulance for tanks in higher BR, basically you stay behind where most of you're teammates are and come to aid if they are in need for repair or extinguishing. it was funny sitting in a T-54 getting fired at by multiple tanks, and then this small Italian L3 with this decal (as shown in the image) driving towards you to help you repair. it's very funny and its even effective if you're bored of having to fight people.

Sniping the enemy spawn with overpressure tanks

Ever wanted to make use of you're huge cannon and huge HE to kill someone who just spawned in at the start of the match? Well this section shows you the distance from every spawn point of every map to the enemies. So if you're tank has a huge bullet drop and is listed bellow as capable HE snipers: make use of this chart to help you instantly get a accurate distance to get a lucky kill.

Rocket set distance

Here I write on "Rocket activation distance" of various HE unguided rockets for Air battles

Type of engagement Set distance = fire on target when range is

S-25O

Head on 800 meters = 1.2-1.4 Km

During chaise WO

S-24

Head on WO (cant find information cause everyone evades a head on)

During chaise 1000 meters = 400-600 m

Sound breaking kamikaze

Ever thought about just wanting to kill the jet you overshot or overflew in a air battle but you're aim sucks, or you're out of ammo?

introducing unguided HE rockets set to 200 meter detonation distance. simply get as close to a enemy plane and fire them away, its best to start firing at <400 meters. sadly while you are doing that you will die but its funny as hell. And the bigger the rockets the funnier it is. It's even more funny when you are going Mach 1.2 into a jet and just delete each other into little pieces. So in short: the faster the plane and bigger the missile is, the more epic you're kamikaze is going to be.
