Usage in battles
Describe the tactics of playing in the aircraft, the features of using aircraft in a team and advice on tactics. Refrain from creating a "guide" - do not impose a single point of view, but instead, give the reader food for thought. Examine the most dangerous enemies and give recommendations on fighting them. If necessary, note the specifics of the game in different modes (AB, RB, SB).
Pros and cons
Pros:
- Eased up modifications over the F-4EJ
- Comes with 2 x AIM-9Ps stock instead of 2 x AIM-9Bs
- 4 x AIM-9Ps is a tier I mod without the need of AIM-9Es
- A wide range of suspended armaments, suitable for any playstyle
- AIM-7F capable
- Top-of-Line AIM-9Ls missiles, having a excellent maneuverability of 30G,high range, great tracking and being able to totally ignore flares in certain situations
- Capable of all-aspect tracking
- Deadly frontal armament with high burst mass
- Makes use of a ballistic computer for assisting in the aim of cannons, rockets, and bombs against ground targets
- Large reserve of countermeasures
- Better BVR capability than every F16A currently ingame
- Having all the features of a AN/APG 66 radar:diverse ACMs and look-up modes
- And also a very high resistance to notching, chaff
- One of the radars with the best maximum detection range ingame, and powerful Pulse Doppler mode
- Has the ability to carry 4x AIM 7s,and meanwhile the F16A ADF and MLU variants being able to equip only 2x AIM 7s
Cons:
- Limited ammunition in the frontally-mounted cannon
- Terrible maneuverability along with mediocre acceleration and top speed by what's fighting in the tier
- Doesn´t have an Agile Eagle package like the F-4E and F-4F to increase maneuverability
- Highly dependent on team support,as the F-4EJ Kai only relies on its powerful missiles and radar
History
Describe the history of the creation and combat usage of the aircraft in more detail than in the introduction. If the historical reference turns out to be too long, take it to a separate article, taking a link to the article about the vehicle and adding a block "/History" (example: https://wiki.warthunder.com/(Vehicle-name)/History) and add a link to it here using the main
template. Be sure to reference text and sources by using <ref></ref>
, as well as adding them at the end of the article with <references />
. This section may also include the vehicle's dev blog entry (if applicable) and the in-game encyclopedia description (under === In-game description ===
, also if applicable).
