− | <!-- '' | + | <!-- ''General Overview |
− | ' | + | The T-80UD is a formidable battle tank at a 10.0 battle rating, featuring strong armor, good mobility, and a powerful main gun equipped with an autoloader. It has balanced protection against various types of ammunition thanks to its composite armor and ERA (Explosive Reactive Armor), making it effective against cumulative ammunition. It's also equipped with smoke grenades and an Engine Smoke System (ESS) for creating smoke screens, enhancing its survivability on the battlefield. |
+ | |||
+ | Armor and Survivability
+ | Composite Armor and ERA: These provide balanced protection, making the T-80UD tough against both kinetic and chemical munitions. Focus on angling your tank to maximize the effectiveness of your armor.
+ | Weak Spots: Despite its strong armor, the T-80UD has weak spots typical of tanks, such as the lower glacis and certain parts of the turret. Be mindful of these areas when engaging enemies.
+ | Self-Entrenching Equipment: This unique feature allows you to create defensive positions in soft ground, which can be used to your advantage in defensive tactics.
+ | Mobility | ||
+ | The T-80UD exhibits high mobility for a tank of its size and weight, with a respectable top speed and a powerful engine. This allows you to quickly take up advantageous positions or retreat when necessary. Its mobility is a key factor that can be leveraged for flanking maneuvers or to avoid artillery and air strikes.
+ | |||
+ | Armament and Combat Use
+ | Main Gun: The 125 mm 2A46M-1 cannon, combined with an autoloader, provides a consistent and reliable rate of fire. The gun's two-plane stabilizer allows for effective firing on the move, enhancing your ability to engage targets quickly.
+ | Ammunition Choices: With a variety of ammunition types at its disposal, including APFSDS, HEATFS, and ATGMs, the T-80UD can effectively engage a wide range of targets. Use APFSDS for engaging heavily armored targets, HEATFS for lighter armor, and ATGMs for long-range engagements.
+ | Machine Guns: The 12.7 mm NSVT and 7.62 mm PKT machine guns are effective against light armor and low-flying aircraft. Utilize these for engaging lightly armored vehicles or for defense against helicopter and low-flying fixed-wing threats.
+ | Gameplay Strategies | ||
+ | Positioning: Use the T-80UD's mobility to secure key positions early in the game or to flank enemies. Avoid open areas where you can be easily targeted from a distance, especially by tanks with superior long-range capabilities.
+ | Engagement Range: While the T-80UD is capable of engaging targets at various ranges, it excels in mid-range engagements where its armor and firepower can be most effective. Use terrain and urban environments to close the distance to your targets.
+ | Use of Smoke: Deploy smoke grenades or the ESS to cover your movements or to escape from unfavorable engagements. This can also be used to support your teammates by concealing their movements.
+ | Ammunition Management: Be mindful of your ammunition choices based on the targets you're engaging. Consider carrying a balanced loadout to be prepared for different types of threats.
+ | Conclusion | ||
+ | The T-80UD is a versatile and powerful medium tank that can significantly impact the battlefield when used effectively. Its combination of armor, firepower, and mobility allows for a variety of tactics, from aggressive flanking to defensive positioning. Understanding the strengths and weaknesses of this tank will enable you to maximize its potential in combat.''

General info
Survivability and armour
Describe armour protection. Note the most well protected and key weak areas. Appreciate the layout of modules as well as the number and location of crew members. Is the level of armour protection sufficient, is the placement of modules helpful for survival in combat? If necessary use a visual template to indicate the most secure and weak zones of the armour.

Main armament
Give the reader information about the characteristics of the main gun. Assess its effectiveness in a battle based on the reloading speed, ballistics and the power of shells. Do not forget about the flexibility of the fire, that is how quickly the cannon can be aimed at the target, open fire on it and aim at another enemy. Add a link to the main article on the gun: {{main|Name of the weapon}}
. Describe in general terms the ammunition available for the main gun. Give advice on how to use them and how to fill the ammunition storage.

Usage in battles
Describe the history of the creation and combat usage of the vehicle in more detail than in the introduction. If the historical reference turns out to be too long, take it to a separate article, taking a link to the article about the vehicle and adding a block "/History" (example: https://wiki.warthunder.com/(Vehicle-name)/History) and add a link to it here using the main
template. Be sure to reference text and sources by using <ref></ref>
, as well as adding them at the end of the article with <references />
. This section may also include the vehicle's dev blog entry (if applicable) and the in-game encyclopedia description (under === In-game description ===
, also if applicable).
Media
Excellent additions to the article would be video guides, screenshots from the game, and photos.
