Pros and cons

Pros:

  • Excellent climb rate and acceleration
  • Above average maneuverability
  • Powerful main armament, especially effective against bombers
  • Able to carry massive S-21 rockets
  • Ground strike capability

Cons:

  • Somewhat slow roll rate
  • Poor controllability due to compression at high mach numbers ( > Mach 0.9)
  • Inhomogeneous main armament with different ballistic characteristics can make aiming difficult
  • Limited ammunition capacity
  • Rockets are difficult to aim due to angled mounts
