Description
The 14,5 cm psrak m/49 is a Swedish aerial anti tank rocket introduced in Update 1.93 "Shark Attack" as a loadout option for the J29D. The name 14,5 cm psrak m/49 is actually an abbreviation for its full name 14,5 cm pansarsprängraket m/49 (145 mm HEAT-rocket m/49).
The 14,5 cm psrak m/49 was the basic Swedish anti tank rocket during the 1950's and 1960's until being replaced with the 135 mm psrak m/70 in the 1970's. The 145 mm warheads of the 14,5 cm psrak m/49 were however reused after the m/49 rocket bodies had left service. Starting from 1977 the 145 mm warheads were removed from their m/49 bodies and then mounted to the bodies of the 13,5 cm srak m/56, then called 145 mm psrak m/49/56.
The 14,5 cm psrak m/49 is not known to have ever seen combat. Its direct brother however, the 15 cm srak m/51, was used in combat during the Congo crisis in the early 1960's where it was used to great effect by UN-assigned J29B's when performing attack-missions.
In game it can be found on the vast majority of Swedish attackers and bombers below tier 3. While not the easiest to aim, it does great damage when hitting armoured vehicles.

Comparison with analogues
Give a comparative description of rockets that have firepower equal to this weapon.
Usage in battles
The 14,5 cm psrak m/49 shines in ground battles thanks to its 500 mm penetration, allowing it to be used even against heavy tanks when well-aimed. In air battles, the rocket can be used against tanks and pillboxes.
Pros and cons
Pros:
- Very high penetration values
- Good damage (for a HEAT projectile)
- Good accuracy
Cons:
- Nose heavy
- Sometimes mounted in wings, which can make aiming more difficult
- Fairly high ricochet chance
History
Examine the history of the creation and combat usage of the weapon in more detail than in the introduction. If the historical reference turns out to be too long, take it to a separate article, taking a link to the article about the weapon and adding a block "/History" (example: https://wiki.warthunder.com/(Weapon-name)/History) and add a link to it here using the main
template. Be sure to reference text and sources by using <ref></ref>
, as well as adding them at the end of the article with <references />
.
Media
Excellent additions to the article would be video guides, screenshots from the game, and photos.
