Survivability and armour
Examine the survivability of the aircraft. Note how vulnerable the structure is and how secure the pilot is, whether the fuel tanks are armoured, etc. Describe the armour, if there is any, and also mention the vulnerability of other critical aircraft systems.

Usage in battles
The most effective way of using the Mirage F1C-200 in Air Realistic battles is to play a support role, targeting slow or distracted enemies with your powerful air-to-air missiles. Try to avoid entering the furball as the Mirage F1C-200 has poor maneuverability and top speed. It is recommended to avoid 1 on 1 dogfights unless absolutely necessary due to the poor maneuverability and acclearetion of the aircraft.
The Mirage F1C-200 can also be used as a strike aircraft with its bombs and rockets and transitioning to a fighter after dropping its ordnance.
Enemies worth noting:
When playing the Mirage F1C-200 everyone is a considerable treat due to the poor flight characteristics of the aircraft.
Pros and cons
Pros:
- Availability of Matra Super 530F and R550 Magic 2 air-to-air missiles
- The Cyrano-IV allows low altitude Pulse-Doppler (MTI) and ACM, an upgrade from the previous Mirages (IIIE & IIIC)
- 252 countermeasures
- Decent acceleration at higher speeds
- Large amount of bombs and rockets
Cons:
- Very slow acceleration with ordnance
- Poor manoeuvrability at low and high speeds with only "workable" agility at mid speeds
- Low wing-rip speed compared to other aircraft at the rank
- The Matra Super 530F missiles are very heavy and strongly impact flight performance
- 30 mm DEFA cannons are difficult to use, particularly against high-speed targets
History
Describe the history of the creation and combat usage of the aircraft in more detail than in the introduction. If the historical reference turns out to be too long, take it to a separate article, taking a link to the article about the vehicle and adding a block "/History" (example: https://wiki.warthunder.com/(Vehicle-name)/History) and add a link to it here using the main
template. Be sure to reference text and sources by using <ref></ref>
, as well as adding them at the end of the article with <references />
. This section may also include the vehicle's dev blog entry (if applicable) and the in-game encyclopedia description (under === In-game description ===
, also if applicable).
Media
Excellent additions to the article would be video guides, screenshots from the game, and photos.
