Description
The Su-9 is a rank V Soviet jet fighter with a battle rating of 7.3 (AB) and 7.0 (RB/SB). It was introduced in Update "Ixwa Strike".

Survivability and armour

Offensive armament
The Su-9 is armed with:
- 1 x 37 mm N-37 cannon, nose-mounted (30 rpg)
- 2 x 23 mm NS-23 cannons, nose-mounted (100 rpg = 200 total)
Suspended armament
The Su-9 can be outfitted with the following ordnance:
- Without load
- 1 x 250 kg FAB-250M-46 bomb (250 kg total)
- 2 x 250 kg FAB-250M-46 bombs (500 kg total)
- 1 x 500 kg FAB-500M-46 bomb (500 kg total)
Usage in battles
This plane has a very poor stock performance, but it's performance grows through upgrades. For the pilots here who already flew the Kikka, this plane has a very similar playstyle (Boom'N'Zoom) mixed with some Turn'N'Burn (where you build speed, and then burn your speed in one turn to engage 1 single target)
Pros and cons
Pros:
- Decent dive speed for a 7.0 jet
- BR of 7.0, means it can face late props
- Decent acceleration when spaded
- Good high speed controlling
- MiG gun setting famous for inflicting high damage in one short close range burst
Cons:
- Very sluggish when stock.
- MiG gun setting famous for being innacurate at ranges beyond 600 m
- Poor low speed controlling
