Rh202 has fantastic gun handling. Even though it is not equipped with a stabiliser, it's barely noticeable even when firing on the move, allowing to successfully engage enemies without stopping at close range.

The 20 mm Rh202 is a German anti-tank, anti-aircraft and naval autocannon used in game by the US, Germany, Japan and Great Britain.
With a great rate of fire (noticeably faster than 30 mm found on BMP-2s), it can shred light vehicles, low flying planes and helicopters to pieces in a matter of seconds. Even heavier tanks are not safe since it is able to disable their critical components with a well-aimed burst, crippling their main and secondary armaments and tracks, making them easy kills for more-heavily armed teammates.

The cannon is good against aircraft an helicopters. It has great rate of fire and good ammo. The cannon suffers a bit of the ~10 seconds reload. Overall a good SPAA.

Because of the fast rate of fire and the HEFI-T* shells found in most ammo belts, it is an excellent anti-air weapon, even against jets. It is also capable of disabling tracks in a very short amount of time.

The Rheinmetall Rh202 was developed in the 1960s as a lightweight but fast-firing autocannon. It is a very successful design that has seen use in armies and navies around the world. It was first created for the Marder A1- Infantry Fighting Vehicle as the Germans wanted a more reliable autocannon than the Hispano-Suzia HS.820 used on their Schützenpanzer Lang HS.30 Armoured Personnel Carriers. The design was used in the Marder in a two-man turret, as well as on the Spähpanzer Luchs amphibious reconnaissance vehicle and on the Wiesel 1A4, a German air-transportable tankette. The Rh202 was also mounted on the prototype joint United States/West German MBT-70 prototype as an anti-aircraft weapon to replace the AA machine guns on main battle tanks. The Argentinians used both a twin-wheeled carriage variant of the Rh202 during the Falklands War in 1982, and on the VCTP, an IFV based on their TAM main battle tanks which, recursively, are Marder IFV variants. An anti-aircraft twin mount was developed for the Luftwaffe (German Air Force) in 1968 and continues to see service with the Portuguese Navy and Air Force. The Rh202 was also used on NATO cruisers and frigates, particularly in West Germany, though it is getting phased for the newer 27 mm Mauser MLG 27.

Comparison with analogues

 • The 20 mm Oerlikon KAD has a higher fire rate but slightly less penetration.
 • The 20 mm M168 has a far superior fire rate due to its rotary barrel design but slightly less penetration.
 • The 20 mm M139 has almost double the firerate of the Rh202, but still keeps almost identically same penetration, with only a 1mm difference in penetration.

Usage in battles

Because of the fast rate of fire and the HEFI-T* shells found in most ammo belts, it is an excellent anti-air weapon, even against jets. It is also capable of disabling tracks in a very short amount of time.

Pros and cons

Pros:

 • Fast-firing autocannon
 • Able to fire APDS (for a few vehicles)
 • Majority of ammo belts include HEFI-T* allowing anti-air capabilities
 • Great at disabling tracks

Cons:

 • Low penetration even for APDS
 • Overheats easily
