The Red Angel is statistically identical to the Uncle Tom.
Usage in battles
The Red Angel was designed as an anti-ship rocket and is best used as such.
Pros and cons
Pros:
- Higher explosive payload than a single RP-3.
- Near-misses are a little more forgiving than with an RP-3
- Higher penetration than the RP-3
- Direct hits against most Coastal boats or small Bluewater ships will usually be fatal.
Cons:
- Extremely heavy
- Low velocity
- Planes can only carry 2 rockets
- Compared to the Tiny Tim or RP-3, it has a very bad weight-to-damage ratio
History
Examine the history of the creation and combat usage of the weapon in more detail than in the introduction. If the historical reference turns out to be too long, take it to a separate article, taking a link to the article about the weapon and adding a block "/History" (example: https://wiki.warthunder.com/(Weapon-name)/History) and add a link to it here using the main
template. Be sure to reference text and sources by using <ref></ref>
, as well as adding them at the end of the article with <references />
.
