Ju 87 D-5
Contents
This page is about the aircraft Ju 87 D-5. For other uses, see Ju 87 (Disambiguation) |
Description
The Ju 87 D-5 should not be used as a bomber, since it's maximum bombload of 2x 250kg and 1x 500kg does not hold up at it's BR. It is excellent for ground strikes, both with the 7.92 mm guns and the 20 mm cannons. The 20mm is recommended, because the 7.92 mm runs out of ammo fairly fast. The best use your Ju 87 D-5 is bomber hunting. One burst of the 6x 20mm cannons, using the air target belt is enough to destroy a bomber and even fighters.
The Ju 87 D-5 is a Rank II German dive bomber
with a battle rating of 3.7 (AB) and 3.3 (RB/SB). It was introduced into the game sometime prior to Update 1.27.

Survivability and armour
4-8mm of armour in the fuselage.
Armaments
Offensive armament
The stock 2x 20mm is not very effective.
Suspended armament
Suspended 12x 7.92 mm deals with enemy aircraft pretty well, runs out of ammo quickly though. Suited for beginners, since the traces are more visible. Suspended 4x 20 mm kills bombers and fighters sufficiently.
Defensive armament
Turret 7.92 mm is somewhat useful distracting enemies, but does not deal a lot of damage.
Usage in battles
Describe the tactics of playing in an aircraft, the features of using vehicles in a team and advice on tactics. Refrain from creating a "guide" - do not impose a single point of view, but instead give the reader food for thought. Examine the most dangerous enemies and give recommendations on fighting them. If necessary, note the specifics of the game in different modes (AB, RB, SB).

History
Describe the history of the creation and combat usage of the aircraft in more detail than in the introduction. If the historical reference turns out to be too big, take it to a separate article, taking a link to the article about the vehicle and adding a block "/ History" (example: https://wiki.warthunder.com/(Vehicle-name)/History) and add a link to it here using the main
template. Be sure to reference text and sources by using <ref>
, as well as adding them at the end of the article. This section may also include the vehicle's devblog entry (if applicable) and the ingame encyclopedia description (under === Encyclopedia Info ===
, also if applicable).
Media
Excellent additions to the article would be video guides, screenshots from the game, and photos.
