Description
The 12.7 mm M3 Browning is a faster-firing variant of the M2 Browning developed for aircraft use. In-game, it is found mainly on early American jet fighters, notably the F-84 Thunderjet and F-86 Sabre variants.

General info
Tell us about the tactical and technical characteristics of the cannon or machine gun.
Available ammunition
Describe the shells that are available for the weapon and their features and purpose. If it concerns autocannons or machine guns, write about different ammo belts and what is inside (which types of shells).
Comparison with analogues
Give a comparative description of cannons/machine guns that have firepower equal to this weapon.
Usage in battles
Describe the cannon/machine gun in the game - its distinctive features, tactics of usage against notable opponents. Please don't write a "guide" - do not impose a single point of view, but give the reader food for thought.
Pros and cons
Pros:
- Fast fire rate
- Is good at setting fires
- Good muzzle velocity
- Doesn't jam easily
Cons:
- Not very good destructive power, will need a solid burst to take down an enemy

Due to the unreliability of their cannon designs, the M2, a scaled-up variant of a World War I-era design, was mounted in large groups on the wings and turrets of American aircraft, compensating for the explosive punch of a cannon shell with volume of fire. After the Korean War, the United States began to abandon machine guns or cannons for a time in favour of arming their jets with rockets and missiles.
