History
In a rare case of collaboration between Imperial Japanese Army and Imperial Japanese Navy, both used the MG 15 machine gun made under license by Nagoya Army Arsenal with slight differences. The Navy variant is designated the Type 1 and lacks the second hand-grip the Imperial Japanese Army's Type 98. The Type 1 is used on the B7A2 Ryusei torpedo bomber, the Army's Ki-67 Hiryū heavy bomber, Nakajima C6N Saiun carrier based reconnaissance aircraft and the D4Y Suisei.
