This page is about the gift French strike aircraft Jaguar E. For other versions, see Jaguar (Family). |
Contents
Description
The Jaguar E is a gift rank VII French strike aircraft with a battle rating of 10.3 (AB/SB) and 10.7 (RB). It was introduced during Update "Drone Age" as a reward for the 2022 Project "Overpowered" event.
General info
Flight performance
Describe how the aircraft behaves in the air. Speed, manoeuvrability, acceleration and allowable loads - these are the most important characteristics of the vehicle.

Survivability and armour
Examine the survivability of the aircraft. Note how vulnerable the structure is and how secure the pilot is, whether the fuel tanks are armoured, etc. Describe the armour, if there is any, and also mention the vulnerability of other critical aircraft systems.

Offensive armament
The Jaguar E is armed with:
- A choice between two presets:
- 2 x 30 mm DEFA 553 cannons, belly-mounted (150 rpg = 300 total)
- 2 x 30 mm DEFA 553 cannons + 252 x countermeasures
Suspended armament
The Jaguar E can be equipped with the following ordnance:
- Without load
- 2 x Matra R550 Magic 1 missiles
- 8 x 400 kg SAMP Type 21 bombs (3,200 kg total)
- 11 x 250 kg SAMP Type 25 bombs (2,750 kg total)
- 2 x 400 kg BGL-400 bombs (800 kg total)
- 2 x 970 kg BGL-1000 bombs (1,940 kg total)
- 2 x AS-30L Nord missiles
- 16 x TBA ECC rockets
- 16 x TBA Multi-Dart 100 AB rockets
- 108 x SNEB type 23 rockets
- 144 x SNEB type 23 rockets
Usage in battles
Describe the tactics of playing in the aircraft, the features of using aircraft in a team and advice on tactics. Refrain from creating a "guide" - do not impose a single point of view, but instead, give the reader food for thought. Examine the most dangerous enemies and give recommendations on fighting them. If necessary, note the specifics of the game in different modes (AB, RB, SB).
Pros and cons
Pros:
- Good manoeuvrability once suspended armament is disposed of
- Has two pilots, which decreases the risk of losing the aircraft if a pilot is knocked out
- Healthy amount of countermeasures
- Wide variety of air-to-ground loadout options, including laser-guided bombs
- Access to very effective Matra R550 Magic 1 air-to-air missiles
Cons:
- Top speed and acceleration are mediocre
- Poor energy retention, bleeds quite a lot of speed in turns
- Performance is significantly crippled while carrying big bombload
- Has neither radar nor radar warning receiver
History
Describe the history of the creation and combat usage of the aircraft in more detail than in the introduction. If the historical reference turns out to be too long, take it to a separate article, taking a link to the article about the vehicle and adding a block "/History" (example: https://wiki.warthunder.com/(Vehicle-name)/History) and add a link to it here using the main
template. Be sure to reference text and sources by using <ref></ref>
, as well as adding them at the end of the article with <references />
. This section may also include the vehicle's dev blog entry (if applicable) and the in-game encyclopedia description (under === In-game description ===
, also if applicable).
Media
Excellent additions to the article would be video guides, screenshots from the game, and photos.
