Description
The Merkava Mk.4 LIC (Low Intensity Conflict) is a modification of the Merkava Mk.4B developed in the mid-2000s, designed for combat in densely built-up urban areas. To prevent explosive charges from being installed in vulnerable parts of the tank, the optics, exhaust ports, and ventilators are all covered by a newly designed high-strength metal mesh. The vehicle's mine protection was improved, and to assist with navigation and manoeuvrability in an urban context, rubber whip pole markers with LED tips and a rear-facing camera were also installed.
Introduced in Update "Sky Guardians", the Merkava Mk.4 LIC is practically identical to the Merkava Mk.4B, except for the addition of mine protection, which increases the hull's protection against HEAT rounds but also increases its weight by three tons. In real life, the Merkava Mk.4 LIC is mostly used as a supplement to the Merkava Mk.4M for hunting down insurgents on low-intensity urban battlefields, and it can take a similar role in-game, supporting frontline fighters with its powerful cannon and strong hull-down capabilities.
General info
Survivability and armour
Describe armour protection. Note the most well protected and key weak areas. Appreciate the layout of modules as well as the number and location of crew members. Is the level of armour protection sufficient, is the placement of modules helpful for survival in combat? If necessary use a visual template to indicate the most secure and weak zones of the armour.
Armour type:
Armour | Front (Slope angle) | Sides | Rear | Roof |

Notes:
Mobility
Write about the mobility of the ground vehicle. Estimate the specific power and manoeuvrability, as well as the maximum speed forwards and backwards.

Usage in battles
Describe the tactics of playing in the vehicle, the features of using vehicles in the team and advice on tactics. Refrain from creating a "guide" - do not impose a single point of view but instead give the reader food for thought. Describe the most dangerous enemies and give recommendations on fighting them. If necessary, note the specifics of the game in different modes (AB, RB, SB).
Pros and cons
Summarise and briefly evaluate the vehicle in terms of its characteristics and combat effectiveness. Mark its pros and cons in a bulleted list. Try not to use more than 6 points for each of the characteristics. Avoid using categorical definitions such as "bad", "good" and the like - use substitutions with softer forms such as "inadequate" and "effective".

History
The Merkava Mk.4 LIC (Low-Intensity Conflict) is a modern main battle tank used by the Israeli Defense Forces. It was developed as an upgrade to the Merkava Mk.4 tank, which entered service in the early 2000s. The Merkava Mk.4 LIC was specifically designed to meet the needs of the IDF in urban warfare and low-intensity conflicts. The tank was developed in response to the changing nature of warfare, which increasingly involved conflicts in urban environments, where traditional main battle tanks were less effective. Modifications included the addition of wire meshes around particularly sensitive areas of the tank such as air intakes and optics, to protect against planting of explosive charges.
