Description

The Stridsvagn 122A is a rank VIII Swedish medium tank with a battle rating of 12.0 (AB/RB/SB). It was introduced in Update 1.97 "Viking Fury". The Strv 122 is based on the Leopard 2, but with slightly increased protection.

Usage in battles

Playing like the average Main Battle Tank should suffice. Compared to most tanks, the frontal armor and turret are better protected, meaning the tank can played more aggressively. Hiding the lower mantlet is still required to avoid opponents exploiting a weak point.

Pros and cons

Pros:

• A very well armored MBT with even less weakspots
• There is a thick layer composite armor covering the roof
• The Upper Frontal Plate is no longer a weakspot to shoot at
• Good speed and maneuverability
• Access to DM33, a very high penetrating APFSDS shell
• The second top-tier MBT ingame with powerful HE shells

Cons:

• Unlike CV90120, it doesnt have the very powerful 120 mm CTG cannon or either the its powerful shells
• Lower frontal plate is still a weakspot
• Turret ring is the main target for enemy tanks
• Doesn't have very effective AA capabilities
