The Panzerkampfwagen II Ausführung C (Panzer II C) (Sd.Kfz. Index: Sd.Kfz. 121) was the third variant of the Panzer II light tank family. Both the Panzer I and II light tank families were viewed as stopgap measures until the arrival of improved tanks, specifically the Panzer III and IV medium tank families. Despite this, Panzer IIs served as the primary light tank in German service and as a scout throughout World War II, despite the fact that several wheeled vehicles handled this specialized mission substantially better. The origins of the Panzer II light tank family can be traced back to 1934 when the Waffenamt (military ordnance agency) realized that manufacturing problems with the Panzer III and IV medium tanks necessitated the development of a new design that could quickly replace the outdated Panzer I light tanks. The final design was simply a larger Panzer I with a turret housing the new Rheinmetall L/55 20 mm autocannon. The armament was a 20 mm FlaK 30 anti-aircraft autocannon with a 600 rpm fire rate. As proved by the Spanish Civil War, a major increase in armour was required, and the early Panzer II variants had integral 14 mm (0.55 in) homogenous steel armour (10 mm/0.39 in top and bottom), which was adequate against shrapnel and small bullets. However, it was vulnerable to various high-velocity anti-tank guns of the time. The Panzer II C variant was purchased in order to keep the factories operational until the Panzer III and Panzer IV medium tanks could be mass-produced. The sole change between Panzer II variants A, B, and C is a new improved vision port and minor enhancements in crew protection. It had two conical beaded bolts on the face plate and two massive bolts above and below it to maintain the 50 mm bulletproof glass in place. It kept its 20 mm L/55 autocannon, which could fire both armour-piercing (AP) and high-explosive (HE) ammunition. More armour was added to the tank's hull and turret in 1940. The commander's cupola was added in 1941. The installation of armour to the front hull glacis plates changed the appearance of the hull from a curved to an angular shape.

Description

The Panzerkampfwagen II Ausführung C (Panzer II C) (Sd.Kfz. Index: Sd.Kfz. 121) was the third variant of the Panzer II light tank family. This special tank is a reward for watching streams on Twitch.tv and is no longer obtainable by any means. It is identical to the standard Panzer II C variant that can be found in the German Army ground forces.

Introduced in Update "Winged Lions", the Panzer II C is one of the few light tanks available to the German Army during World War II. The ground forces of the German Army are largely made up of medium tanks, heavy tanks, and tank destroyers. Later in the war, light tanks were rarely built because armoured-wheeled vehicles performed comparable roles far more efficiently. In general, the Panzer II C is a dangerous light tank in the hands of a good player. As most enemy tanks in the early ranks are rather weakly armoured, the Panzer II C may unleash a barrage of armour-piercing rounds down the opponent's route with the L/55 20 mm autocannon, crippling most opponent tanks with a single ammunition clip.

Usage in battles

Describe the tactics of playing in the vehicle, the features of using vehicles in the team and advice on tactics. Refrain from creating a "guide" - do not impose a single point of view but instead give the reader food for thought. Describe the most dangerous enemies and give recommendations on fighting them. If necessary, note the specifics of the game in different modes (AB, RB, SB).

Pros and cons

Summarise and briefly evaluate the vehicle in terms of its characteristics and combat effectiveness. Mark its pros and cons in a bulleted list. Try not to use more than 6 points for each of the characteristics. Avoid using categorical definitions such as "bad", "good" and the like - use substitutions with softer forms such as "inadequate" and "effective".
