Description

The Baz Meshupar is the name given in the Israeli Air Force to the F-15C, an upgraded version of the F-15A originally acquired in the mid 1970s. The Baz Meshupar went on to serve for many years, being the backbone of the Israeli Air Force in air superiority tasks until more modern versions of the F-16C and later the F-35 became widely available, the aircraft has seen plenty of action, mainly in border conflicts with arab nations, most notably interception of Syrian Aircrafts in areas under dispute like the Golan Heights.

Introduced in Update "Seek & Destroy", the F-15C Baz (Improved) Meshupar is the Israeli version of the F-15C, with the same armament and systems. It has access to the AIM-120A AMRAAM, a great ARH missile with very long range, a terminal self-guidance system, as well as advanced inertial navigation. This is the weapon that defines the F-15C, however, this aircraft also relies on its excellent flight performance for aerial dogfights, and for short-medium range combat, it has access to AIM-9M air-to-air missiles, with IRCCM and very good manoeuvrability, although it lacks access to modern AGMs or laser guided bombs. Overall the F-15C is a capable fighter with limited options for ground support missions.

The F-15C Baz (Improved) Meshupar is a very agile fighter, its top speed is not as high as other fighters like the MiG-29SMT, but it compensates this with good energy retention, excellent acceleration and an adequate low speed manoeuvrability, after dogfights, the F-15C is capable to regain its speed quickly thanks to its good power to weight ratio.

The most important modifications are unlocking the AIM-9M and the AIM-120A, after that, prioritize modifications like G-Suit and all the engine modifications. If you need the F-15C for ground missions, ignore the performance modifications and unlock the GBU-8 guided bombs, however note that the F-16D Barak II is a better aircraft in ground battles than the F-15C.

The Baz Meshupar is armed with:

  • 1 x 20 mm M61A1 cannon, wing root-mounted (940 rpg)
  • 240 x countermeasures

Suspended armament

Describe the aircraft's suspended armament: additional cannons under the wings, bombs, rockets and torpedoes. This section is especially important for bombers and attackers. If there is no suspended weaponry remove this subsection.

Default weapon presets
  • 2 x 750 gal drop tanks + 3 x 610 gal drop tanks
  • 2 x AIM-9M Sidewinder missiles
  • 4 x AIM-9L Sidewinder missiles
  • 4 x Python 3 missiles

  • 3 x 2,000 lb GBU-8 bombs (6,000 lb total)
  • 9 x BLU-27/B incendiary bombs

Usage in battles

Describe the tactics of playing in the aircraft, the features of using aircraft in a team and advice on tactics. Refrain from creating a "guide" - do not impose a single point of view, but instead, give the reader food for thought. Examine the most dangerous enemies and give recommendations on fighting them. If necessary, note the specifics of the game in different modes (AB, RB, SB).

Pros and cons

Pros:

  • Agile at low-medium speeds
  • Good power to weight ratio
  • Excellent air to air weaponry
  • Ability to carry missiles under external fuel tanks

Cons:

  • No access to rockets
  • High fuel consumption
  • No access to modern guided munitions like AGMs or laser guided bombs

History

Describe the history of the creation and combat usage of the aircraft in more detail than in the introduction. If the historical reference turns out to be too long, take it to a separate article, taking a link to the article about the vehicle and adding a block "/History" (example: https://wiki.warthunder.com/(Vehicle-name)/History) and add a link to it here using the main template. Be sure to reference text and sources by using <ref></ref>, as well as adding them at the end of the article with <references />. This section may also include the vehicle's dev blog entry (if applicable) and the in-game encyclopedia description (under === In-game description ===, also if applicable).

Media

Excellent additions to the article would be video guides, screenshots from the game, and photos.
