Usage in battles
Air battles:
The 4000lb "cookie" bomb can be used to destroy a singular base at its first appearance (2.3) in later appearances of this weapon such as 5.0 on the Lancaster, it can destroy a normal base but may struggle on maps with re-spawning bases. It can be used for airfield bombing although multiple bombs will be required. It can also be used to bomb vehicle columns although this is not advised unless at low altitude to assure a more direct hit.
Ground battles:
This bomb can be used s a budget version of the infamous FAB5000 found on the PE8, and in a similar way to the SC2500 found on the HE111. that being the large scale destruction of clustered armored targets. if used at it's minimum battle rating of 2.3 it will face mostly light vehicles, increasing its potency.
Pros and cons
Pros:
.Large explosive radius
.Large capability against Armour
.Versatile
.Multiple can be attached to one heavy bomber for the clearing of multiple capture points.
Cons:
.Only dropped from poor performing medium bombers or relatively large/badly defended heavy bombers.
.Cannot take out a higher BR re-spawning base
.Poor performance in Air battles
History
Examine the history of the creation and combat usage of the weapon in more detail than in the introduction. If the historical reference turns out to be too long, take it to a separate article, taking a link to the article about the weapon and adding a block "/History" (example: https://wiki.warthunder.com/(Weapon-name)/History) and add a link to it here using the main
template. Be sure to reference text and sources by using <ref></ref>
, as well as adding them at the end of the article with <references />
.
Media
Excellent additions to the article would be video guides, screenshots from the game, and photos.
