Description
The 85 mm ZIS-S-53 is a Soviet cannon that is mounted on ground vehicles and naval vessels in War Thunder.
Though the designation differs between "S" and "C", the usage of "C" does not indicate naval usage of the cannon but instead of the phonetic similarities between Cyrillic and English translations. With the letter in the weapon's designation serving as an initial after the weapon's designer A. Savin, the "S" sounds phonetically similar to "C" in the Russian alphabet.

History
The ZiS-S-53 is a variant of the Red Army's 85 mm air defense gun M1939 (GAU designation 52-K).
The gun was used on river gunboats such as the MBK pr.186 in the original T-34-85 turret mounts. However, in 1944, TsKB-34 built a specialized turret mount that traded armour for elevation angles. Designated the MK-85 by the Soviet Navy, the turret was used to arm the later variants of the MBK pr.186 along with the Pr.191 boats that began to supplement it. It was also mounted on some of the Pr.30 Bis destroyers after World War II.
