7.62 mm PK machine gun
Description
The PK machine gun (Russian: Пулемёт Калашникова; Pulemyot Kalashnikova, English: "Kalashnikov's machine gun") was designed as a replacement for the 7.62 mm SGMT machine gun. It was designated as the PKT for use in tank coaxial mounts, PKB for use on pintle mounts, or PKA for aircraft. A modernised variant known as the PKM was later developed, lightening and simplifying the system, along with corresponding PKMT and PKMB configurations.
