This MiG-21S is a jet fighter for the Russian tech tree. It has many perks, like a good airframe and loadout, early radar missiles, and incredible acceleration. However, it has one major flaw — you get no countermeasures. This doesn’t make the plane unplayable; however, it requires a bit more thinking than other MiG-21s. So, how is it played?
The M1128 Stryker is the heavy hitter of the Stryker family, built to take on enemy tanks from long range effectively. Built on an 8×8 wheeled chassis, it trades heavy protection for high mobility and long‑range firepower. An unmanned 105 mm turret, complete with two‑plane stabilisation and a 8‑round autoloader, lets the M1128 engage targets on the fly both effectively and safely. The Wolfpack premium variant shares identical performance to the tech tree Stryker, but swaps the add-on slat armour for a camouflage net and premium economic bonuses.
The IS-6, also known as Object 252, was a Soviet heavy tank developed during the final years of World War II. Designed in 1944, it was a revolutionary step in tank development, introducing advanced sloped armour that influenced the future of heavy tank design. Despite its promising features, mechanical design flaws led to the IS-4M replacing it in production. Only two prototypes of the IS-6 were ever built, both of which were scrapped at the war’s end.
In War Thunder, the T-80s are among the pinnacle of Russian MBTs. They are fast, have a good gun, and decent armour. They excel at many roles, and at all ranges. The T-80U-E1 is a modification of the existing T-80U, with better thermals and a slightly better turret traverse. This variant is technologically superior to most other T-80s apart from the T-80BVM. How is this vehicle played?
The VBCI-2 (MCT-30) is the premium variant of the VBCI family of wheeled IFVs, equipped with the 30mm Bushmaster Mk. II in a crewless turret. Despite being armored enough to withstand light autocannons, at least from the front, it is one of the most mobile wheeled IFVs in the game and when paired with the 150 rounds of Mk.258 APFSDS, it can take out almost any tank from its side within seconds.
The Ariete is an Italian premium fighter. It is the successor of the Sagittario 2 tech tree variant. The main difference between the Ariete and the Sagittario 2 is the addition of a second engine, which greatly increases its acceleration. Despite the lack of missiles and countermeasures, its light weight and incredible maneuverability make it a very dangerous enemy in dogfights.
The M8 Light Armoured Car, commonly known as the “Greyhound”, is a low-tier reconnaissance vehicle. It has a 37mm cannon paired with a 12.7mm heavy machine gun. It features decent mobility, enough armor to withstand small caliber machine guns, and heavy machine gun fire from the front, which can even extend to autocannons at longer ranges. While its mobility may not be the best, it is still enough to allow you to flank enemies and utilize your fast fire rate to destroy enemy vehicles side on.
The Churchill Crocodile is a variant of the Churchill Mk.VII with a hull-mounted flamethrower instead of the hull-mounted machine gun. Apart from the flamethrower, it is almost identical to the tech-tree variant, with the only exception being its weight, which is 45.2 tons compared to 41 tons. The gun is still the same mediocre 75mm OQF Mk.V, and mobility is even worse because of the extra weight.
The T-10A is the big brother of the IS-3, featuring the stabilized D-25TS and almost double the reload speed; it fixes most of the issues of the IS-3. However, unlike the T-10M, it still has the older D-25 gun with a worse stabilizer: the gun still has enough penetration to go through enemies, but still not enough to not have to target weak spots of certain enemies.
The Leopard A1A1 (L/44) is a premium medium tank found in the German tech tree. Equipped with the renowned 120mm Rh120 L/44 cannon, capable of nearly 400mm of penetration with its DM13 APFSDS round, this tank has the potential to dominate the battlefield in skilled hands. While lacking armor, it excels in a sniper-focused playstyle due to its great mobility and firepower.
