Description
The AMX-30 is a French main battle tank, the first of its type produced in France. Originally part of a common tank project with West Germany and Italy, the project's collapse led the nations to develop their own separate though similar tanks, the AMX-30, Leopard 1, and the later OF-40. The AMX-30 includes a 20 mm coaxial autocannon and an advanced HEAT shell. Additionally, the chassis has spawned a variety of derivatives, such as an SPG, a SAM, and even a tactical nuclear missile launcher.
