Description

The Magach 6M was part of the Israeli fleet of M60 tanks acquired from the United states that served alongside Centurion MBTs and other light tanks. This specific variant of the vehicle was the latest variant developed by Israel for the M60A3, it was identical to the Magach 6R but has a new Nachal Oz fire control system fitted. Other than that, the vehicle remained very similar to others in Israeli service with Blazer ERA blocks, but the tank was not very liked by the crew members since the reliability was relatively poor. With the introduction of more capable Magach tanks like the Magach 7, the Magach 6M quickly became obsolete and no further modifications were installed.

It was introduced in Update "Drone Age". This tank suffers from very poor survivability with its a mediocre armour and a lacklustre mobility. However it is still very competitive around its rank thanks to the much improved fire control system with thermal imaging system for the gunner. Unlike other M60 tanks, this one has the smaller commander cupola without the 12.7 mm heavy machine gun, which is a great plus since it was an easy target for HE shells. The Magach 6M is a tank that should not be played aggressively, instead, stay behind your teammates and, when you have possibility, flank the enemy under the cover of more capable frontline tanks like the Merkava. Another option is using your gun depression to stay back and play as a sniper, picking off enemies at long ranges with your thermal sight, this strategy works very well specially in downtiers when most tanks lack any sort of modern fire control systems.

Usage in battles

Describe the tactics of playing in the vehicle, the features of using vehicles in the team and advice on tactics. Refrain from creating a "guide" - do not impose a single point of view but instead give the reader food for thought. Describe the most dangerous enemies and give recommendations on fighting them. If necessary, note the specifics of the game in different modes (AB, RB, SB).

Pros and cons

Summarise and briefly evaluate the vehicle in terms of its characteristics and combat effectiveness. Mark its pros and cons in a bulleted list. Try not to use more than 6 points for each of the characteristics. Avoid using categorical definitions such as "bad", "good" and the like - use substitutions with softer forms such as "inadequate" and "effective".

History

Describe the history of the creation and combat usage of the vehicle in more detail than in the introduction. If the historical reference turns out to be too long, take it to a separate article, taking a link to the article about the vehicle and adding a block "/History" (example: https://wiki.warthunder.com/(Vehicle-name)/History) and add a link to it here using the main template. Be sure to reference text and sources by using <ref></ref>, as well as adding them at the end of the article with <references />. This section may also include the vehicle's dev blog entry (if applicable) and the in-game encyclopedia description (under === In-game description ===, also if applicable).
