The OTO C13 T90 is a rank V Italian light tank with a battle rating of 7.0 (AB/RB/SB). It was introduced in Update "Direct Hit".

Survivability and armour
The C-13's armour is only effective against enemy machine-gun fire, and in lucky cases can bounce a few shots if it has been hit in a specific angle. Generally speaking you can get taken out easily by all sides, so when playing the C-13 keep that in mind.

Usage in battles
The C-13 T90 is an amazing light tank, mainly due to the great mobility it has access to. At first glance one might not expect much from such a big vehicle, but in reality the C-13 T90 easily is able to race ahead of other tanks in the majority of environments its put in. The main reason is due to the hp ton per ratio of the vehicle, paired up with a adequate engine means the C-13 T90 has nearly no problem mobility wise. The only terrains that the C-13 T90 may struggle is muddy ones, but that said most tanks suffer the same fate as well so its not saying much. Due to this, a player should fully put to use this advantage of the C-13 T90 by playing the vehicle as a support/flanker. For example, early in the match the C-13's speed makes it possible to scout enemies and take potshots if the opportunity arises in places the enemy might not expect you to be at. In terms of flanking, this vehicle will be mainly directed towards spotting and setting up opportunistic medium-ranged ambushes, whilst sniping is the last choice, due to it being one tactic only players who are extremely skillful in this vehicle can effectively pull off. The rather small caliber HEAT rounds and the ballistics might not perform as desired at long distances and could just reveal your location to enemies, to practice make sure you utilize the rangefinder to the best of your ability, eventually a player might get used to the ballistics of the vehicle and not even need one when firing at an enemy. The C-13 T90 also has access to the HESH 90mm round, although the HEAT usually does the trick, it might be useful to bring a few HESH rounds in case you encounter enemies that HEAT simply cannot deal with. One of the many upsides of the C-13 T90 also include the scouting ability, which can be extremely useful for you and your team, if the player also brings a multi-purpose aircraft in the line up to provide air support, you can really make the best out of this ability. If flanking in a tree-covered map with the C-13 T90, keep in mind the sensibility of the HEAT fuse as even the smallest of the bushes can detonate the warhead and jeopardize the entire vehicle. Its best to either move to a spot where there's less foliage or scouting an enemy. By scouting enemy players you also gain a considerable amount of points which can always help in case you get taken out. Unlike the AUBL/ 74, the C-13 does not posses any sort of amphibious abilities, so do not try to traverse deep sections of water, as you'll just drown inside your vehicle. The C-13 T90 is also capable of brawling, which can go hand-in-hand with the support role. As long as you're able to find a spot which can cover most of your vehicle, a player can remain close to the front-lines to perform a range of tasks, such as repairing allied vehicles and helping in capturing points. One of the few downsides of the C-13 T90 is it being not very survivable, your armor is only really effective against enemy machine-gun fire, and in some lucky cases you may survive an artillery barrage coming your way. Enemies will usually take you out in one shot, so its advised that you either keep moving or you stay hidden in one spot where you won't be at risk of getting destroyed. A good situational awareness is also recommended when playing this vehicle, what you'll come to find out is that after a few minutes into a match, enemy air will start to make its presence known. Enemy aircraft can easily take you out, even weaker rockets that they have access to will seriously damage your vehicle if not outright take you out. To maximize your survivalbility its best to take refuge inside a building, and hopefully wait for a friendly SPAA to take the air threat out for you. In conclusion, play the C-13 T90 like most of the light tanks already present in game, and you should do fine, take advantage of your speed but don't rely on your armor.

History
The OTO Melara C-13 family of vehicles would begin development during the early 1980's, originally first officially announced in 1981inside of many Italian military magazines, the C-13 was specifically developed in hopes for the Italian army to acquire and mass produce to put out of service the several American M113 APC's they had in service. It was presented publicly in its basic version in 1982 as the first prototype armed with a 12.7mm machine-gun. This APC version would be able to carry 11 infantrymen and the driver, and would be powered by a Isotta-Fraschini supercharged diesel engine which produced 330hp, it would be a considerable speed (60 km/p.h.) for a vehicle of that era. It also would have a range of 500km, which made it a very desirable vehicle for many nations who operated the M113 APC. Technically speaking, it could also be amphibious but to make it work, no form of turret was able to be installed so only the APC variant could cross bodies of water, it would be propelled similarly to the M113. It wouldn't be very armored, but when compared to the M113 APC it did offer an improvement. More testing of the first prototype lead to around 5 more prototypes to be made, some with some quite unique armaments. The OTO C-13 would be able to be configured in many versions, which included the TC-20 version, either armed with a 20mm RH202 auto-cannon or 25mm Oerlikon auto-cannon. Another version would be the TUA (TOW under armour) version which would use the M901 ATGM system. In the anti-air sector, there was plans to create the C-13 25x4, which utilized the SIDAM-25 turret, although all the parts were constructed, due to political reasons the Anti-air version never actually would be fully put together. Lastly, but certainly not least there was the CKL T90 version, which would be armed with a Cockerill Mk3 90mm cannon. This version specifically would utilize the same turret and armament that was previously installed on the Fiat 6616/AUBL 74. Sadly none of these versions would actually be picked up by the Italian army. In the export market, it did actually generate some interest, a model of the C-13 had been evaluated in Iraq at one point. The Gulf War of 1991 however would seriously impact anything actually going forwards. This was mainly due to the new economical and political situations resulting from the conflict which prevented similarly to the OF-40, the commercial success of this family of tracked vehicles. Another nation that actually showed some interest was Germany, more specifically Mak System Gesellschaft which wanted to co-operate with Italy to create a more advanced family of vehicles based on the OTO C-13, this would lead to the OTO AV-90 (armored vehicle 90) which would be based on the C-13 but incorporated a series of improvements, both done thanks to the Italian and German side. The AV-90 program would likely have its funding cut by Germany so the program was shut down, thus putting an end to any sort of potential buyers of the vehicle. Overall this project had shown great potential, and despite the C-13 and later on the AV-90 both proving to be vast improvements of the M113, due to political reasons the project did not ever go past the prototype stage. Currently a few prototypes of the C-13 remain inside of the OTO Melara factory, inside La Spezia, awaiting restoration for the eventual musealization of the vehicle at the Museo Della Melara in Italy.

In War Thunder, the C13 T90 will be a new light tank arriving to rank IV of the Italian ground forces tree as part of the next major update “Direct hit” coming to the game. Its devastating 90 mm cannon, impressive mobility yet rather light armor make the C13 T90 a typical representative of the IFV class of vehicles and thus a likely new favorite among seasoned Italian tankers. Let’s give the newcomer a closer look, shall we?
The C13 T90 sports quite a formidable primary arsenal in the shape of the 90 mm Cockerill Mk.III cannon - a weapon already familiar to some Italian tankers who may have commanded the AUBL/74. Offering good handling characteristics and respectable ballistic properties with its HEAT and HESH ammunition choices, the C13 T90 can easily pose a serious threat even to the most heavily armored adversary at its rank!
Apart from packing a serious punch with its cannon, the C13 T90’s mobility is also nothing short of impressive. Being powered by a 360 horsepower diesel engine, the C13 T90 can reach a top speed of 70 km/h under ideal conditions. With such a high top speed and considering the C13 T90 is a tracked vehicle, its mobility is quite comparable to some of its wheeled counterparts in the Italian tree, especially when taking into account the C13 T90’s advantage in less hospitable terrain.
Being an IFV by design at the end of the day means that the C13 T90 doesn’t boast the best protection, however. Even though the vehicle does come outfitted with up to 50 mm of aluminium alloy armor at its strongest points at the front section of the vehicle, the C13 T90 is unlikely to stop anything more powerful than autocannon fire at a distance. As a result, aspiring commanders of this machine will be ill-advised to take the C13 T90 into frontline brawls. Instead, commanders will be better off taking advantage of the vehicle’s excellent mobility and scouting ability to outflank their opponents, launch surprise attacks from the enemy’s rear and keep their allies updated on hostile movements!
The C13 T90 is soon joining rank IV of the Italian ground forces tree as it comes to the game as part of the next major War Thunder update.
