General info
Survivability and armour
Describe armour protection. Note the most well protected and key weak areas. Appreciate the layout of modules as well as the number and location of crew members. Is the level of armour protection sufficient, is the placement of modules helpful for survival in combat? If necessary use a visual template to indicate the most secure and weak zones of the armour.
Armour type:
- Cast homogeneous armour (hull, turret, roof)
- Rolled homogeneous armour (hull roof - engine compartment, hull rear - engine grille)

Notes:
- Suspension wheels, tracks, and torsion bars are 20 mm thick.
- Belly armour is 19 mm thick in the front, 13 in the rear.
- Mudguards and storage boxes are 4 mm thick.
Mobility
Write about the mobility of the ground vehicle. Estimate the specific power and manoeuvrability, as well as the maximum speed forwards and backwards.

Armaments
Main armament
Give the reader information about the characteristics of the main gun. Assess its effectiveness in a battle based on the reloading speed, ballistics and the power of shells. Do not forget about the flexibility of the fire, that is how quickly the cannon can be aimed at the target, open fire on it and aim at another enemy. Add a link to the main article on the gun: {{main|Name of the weapon}}
. Describe in general terms the ammunition available for the main gun. Give advice on how to use them and how to fill the ammunition storage.

Machine guns
Offensive and anti-aircraft machine guns not only allow you to fight some aircraft but also are effective against lightly armoured vehicles. Evaluate machine guns and give recommendations on its use.

Usage in battles
With the Magach 6A being an M60A1, without the stabilizer, you loose an advantage against your enemies. Firing on the move will be difficult and your reaction time will be hindered, depending on the situation.
Similar to the Magach 6, try to play on the flanks, and/or away from the frontline. Be careful when you're on the move. Without the stabilizer, it will be significantly harder to shoot on the move. With the new turret, you will be able to bounce more shells than usual, even up to APDS shots, though don't rely on your armor heavily, especially if the enemies knows where your weak spots are located. Always expect to be penetrated by an enemy, unless you know you can shrug off a shot or two from them. The 105mm M68 cannon gains access to a new shell stock, M728. It's slightly worse on flat penetration than M392A2 but offers more angle penetration, and of course there is HEAT-FS to help overall, while having its own disadvantages.
In close quarters combat and urban environments, stick next and nearby teammates if you are going to the frontline or an objective. Lacking the stabilizer, will hinder your reaction time. Noticeable enemies to note are vehicles such as the T-55A/AM-1, all British MBTs such as the Centurion Mk10, and Leopard A1A1. Try to go around where a battle is taking place to catch the enemy off guard. Your armor will be slightly better than the Magach 6, but don't heavily rely on it, especially in close quarters combat where shells will be more effective than at range.
Pros and cons
Pros:
- Access to 2 50. caliber HMGs, perfect for sheading air targets and lightly armored targets alike.
- The M2HB will always be a backup if your commander is knocked out.
- Very strong turret protection, can even stop rounds such as DM13, or even 3BM25
- Hunter-Killer system, commander can control the gun for a few seconds if the gunner is knocked out
- Great mobility and handling characteristics overall
- Great gun performance with APDS, and HEAT-FS
Cons:
- Unlike the M60A1 (AOS), the Magach 6A looses access to its stabilizer.
- Quite a big target compared to other adversaries
- Commander Cupola is a big weak spot for vehicles still using APHE
- Turret ring is a weak spot.
- Vulnerable to HEAT-FS and ATGM launchers
- Huge turret ammo rack when fully loaded.
History
Describe the history of the creation and combat usage of the vehicle in more detail than in the introduction. If the historical reference turns out to be too long, take it to a separate article, taking a link to the article about the vehicle and adding a block "/History" (example: https://wiki.warthunder.com/(Vehicle-name)/History) and add a link to it here using the main
template. Be sure to reference text and sources by using <ref></ref>
, as well as adding them at the end of the article with <references />
. This section may also include the vehicle's dev blog entry (if applicable) and the in-game encyclopedia description (under === In-game description ===
, also if applicable).
Media
Excellent additions to the article would be video guides, screenshots from the game, and photos.
