DShK (12.7 mm)
Description
The DShK or Degtyaryova-Shpagina Krupnokaliberny (Russian: Дегтярёва-Шпагина Крупнокалиберный; English: Degtyaryov-Shpagin Large Calibre) is an improved version of the 12.7 mm DK machine gun, developed in 1937 with a new belt feed mechanism to remedy the DK's limited magazine capacity.
The DShK was later updated to the DShKM, featuring a new shuttle feed system among other improvments. This modernised variant was adapted by China into the Type 54.
