General info
Survivability and armour
MGB-61 has no armour, so a few hits from ships with cannons will destroy it. However, small boats such as motor torpedo boats will have a tough time trying to destroy MGB-61 due to its powerful guns. The MGB-61 has a crew of 12.
Mobility
Write about the ship’s mobility. Evaluate its power and maneuverability, rudder rerouting speed, stopping speed at full tilt, with its maximum forward speed and reverse speed.
Armament
Primary armament
The MGB-61 has two turrets at the front, both with 2 x 12.7 mm Vickers MK.V machine guns. Both turrets can turn 360 degrees.
Secondary armament
The MGB-61 has a powerful 40 mm 2pdr Rolls Royce semi-automatic cannon as secondary armament, capable of destroying any boat or ship at the MGB's battle rating. The 40 mm 2pdr has high rate of fire, but it does not have a full 360 degrees of rotation.
Special armament
Usage in battles
MGB-61 capable of destroying all small boats and most ships that it faces due to its strong firepower. The highly accurate 12.7 mm machine guns should be used to take out fast MTBs.. The 40 mm 2pdr cannon should be used to engage larger boats due to it's rapid firing rate. A few good shots should do the job. Unfortunately, because its traverse range is limited, gun handling can be tricky.
Pros and cons
Pros:
- Powerful armament
- Main armament turrets are able to turn 360 degrees
- Semi-auto cannon at the stern provides good flank and rear firepower
Cons:
- No armour
- Not as fast as other small boats
- 2pdr cannon has average accuracy
- 2pdr has slow traverse speed
History
Describe the history of the creation and combat usage of the ship in more detail than in the introduction. If the historical reference turns out to be too big, take it to a separate article, taking a link to an article about the vehicle and adding a block "/ History" (example: https://wiki.warthunder.com/(Vehicle-name)/History) and add a link to it here using the main
template. Be sure to reference text and sources by using <ref>
, as well as adding them at the end of the article.
Media
An excellent addition to the article will be video guides, as well as screenshots from the game and photos.
