HMS Spey (K246) was a River-class frigate in the British Royal Navy. Laid down on July 18, 1941, at the Smiths Dock Company shipyard, she was launched on December 18, 1941, and commissioned on May 19, 1942. During World War II, Spey engaged in anti-submarine patrols and convoy duty in the Atlantic. On July 11, 1942, for example, her combat operations resulted in the destruction of the German submarine U-136 west of Madeira. On March 29, 1943, Spey rescued 10 survivors from the transport ship Empire Whale, which had been torpedoed by the U-662 submarine. On February 18, 1944, the frigate sank another German submarine, U-406, with her depth charges. The following day, she sank U-386. In 1948, Spey was sold to the Egyptian Navy, where she was renamed Rasheed. She remained in service until at least the 1970s and was scrapped in 1994.
HMS Spey was introduced as one of the rewards 2019 Operation H.E.A.T. event. The frigate has rapid-fire main-caliber guns and decent speed but does not stand out in terms of survivability.
