Description
The Boxer MGS is a gift rank VII German light tank with a battle rating of 10.3 (AB/RB/SB). It was introduced during Update "Dance of Dragons" as a reward for the 2024 "Mobile Sniper" event.
General info
Survivability and armour
The Boxer chassis is a lightly armoured hull and, as such, is susceptible to all vehicles' main weapons at its BR, but is also vulnerable to many secondary armaments. Its large size means that rounds penetrating it at its far ends may fail to reach its limited crew count. As a light tank, it is weak to both chemical and solid-based rounds. The lack of armour means that this tank should be kept away from open plains; instead, it can be used to flank or snipe from long ranges. Due to its powerful engine and light weight, the Boxer can accelerate to speeds up to and exceeding 100 km/h, making it an excellent vehicle to reach early-game positions and catch enemies off guard. Its reverse speed allows it to take a shot and move into cover before most vehicles can return fire, making it a good vehicle for peeking and relocating.

Mobility
As it is classified as a light tank in-game, it can be expected to boast high speed. In this respect, the Boxer MGS excels, reaching a speed in excess of 100 km/h. As a wheeled vehicle, it performs better on roads than on grassy or rocky terrains, but thanks to its good suspension, it is still able to comfortably reach over 70 km/h off-road when travelling in a straight line. Due to its trackless design, it lacks the ability to turn on the spot, which should be noted when deploying this vehicle into tight positions. While its brakes are sufficient to slow this vehicle down over a distance, they lack the capability to stop it quickly from top speed, forcing the player to slow preemptively or risk being caught out of cover.

Hull-down sniping
The Boxer MGS is a very capable sniper. It can utilise its Gen 3 thermals, laser rangefinder, and high-velocity APFSDS to pick off adversaries from long distances. Thanks to its excellent gun depression, it can use hills as cover, exposing only the turret, making it harder to see and kill. If the Boxer is played this way, the player must be aware of enemies who may possess a laser warning receiver, which could reveal your position to them.
Flanking
If using this vehicle in a flanking role, be sure to utilise long, straight roads to allow the Boxer to reach its high top speed. The aim should be to find a position side-on to the enemy with cover you can use your reverse speed to retreat into, take a shot, and move out of line of sight.
Pros and cons
Summarise and briefly evaluate the vehicle in terms of its characteristics and combat effectiveness. Mark its pros and cons in a bulleted list. Try not to use more than 6 points for each of the characteristics. Avoid using categorical definitions such as "bad", "good" and the like - use substitutions with softer forms such as "inadequate" and "effective".

History
Describe the history of the creation and combat usage of the vehicle in more detail than in the introduction. If the historical reference turns out to be too long, take it to a separate article, taking a link to the article about the vehicle and adding a block "/History" (example: https://wiki.warthunder.com/(Vehicle-name)/History) and add a link to it here using the main
template. Be sure to reference text and sources by using <ref></ref>
, as well as adding them at the end of the article with <references />
. This section may also include the vehicle's dev blog entry (if applicable) and the in-game encyclopedia description (under === In-game description ===
, also if applicable).
