The CV9030FIN is a model of the famous 9040s. These were made to be exported to other countries such as Czechia, Brazil, Finland and Denmark. The hull allowed it to use many different modifications including models which have a 105 or 120mm gun, anti-air models, anti-tank models etc.

The Swedish name Strf 9040 translates to= Stridsfordon 90, (Combat Vehicle 90). The designation afterwards is telling us which gun it is using. For example the 9040 uses the 40mm Bofors gun. CV9030FIN is the English name, and Strf9030FIN is the original Swedish designation.

The CV9030FIN in game is the variant that is used in Finland, using a MK.44 Bushmaster 30mm. It is the first Stridsfordon 90 available for research by the players. It is not the best version, but it can be used. The speed, agility and decent survivability can be used by experienced players to create havoc in the enemy team.

The 30mm Bushmaster is not the best auto cannon, as the Bofors that is available on the other Stridsfordons, but it can be utilised in many ways.

Flanking, going after lighter targets or just supporting the allied team can be of great assistance to both the team and yourself.

For grinding, of course Parts and FPE should be prioritised, but most of all the APFSDS round as the APDS round is very lacklustre in comparison. Then Thermal imaging as it allows you to spot targets better. It has access to Gen 2 Thermal imaging and it is also available on the commanders sight, something that is pretty rare and should be used.

The armour on the CV9030FIN is not the greatest, although it has a small upgrade compared to the 9040B and BILL. The engine on all Stridsfordon vehicles are good protection as it is also rather large. The crew consists of 3 which is not very much, and will usually lead to you being one-shot and back to the garage.

The armour on the 9030 has a better protection against 50-cals and larger machine-guns, but from some weird angles or from the rear there is not as much protection. Therefore it is recommended that you always aim your front towards the enemy and perhaps even angle a little bit.

You should always try and take out the gun and machine-gun on the enemy tank before showing your weakest sides.

There is no large ammunition stowage, and ammunition explosions are rare. Compared to the Marders that have large ATGMs stored in the back of the vehicle which means that a single hit will usually destroy your vehicle. Therefore you can angle your back but you have to be careful not to show too much as it will result in a ticket back to the garage.

<!-- ''Write about the mobility of the ground vehicle. Estimate the specific power and manoeuvrability, as well as the maximum speed forwards and backwards.'' -->
The mobility is very good, the Scania engine powers the vehicle forward and it is stronger than the 9040B, but the extra armour makes it almost the same speed.
+
''Write about the mobility of the ground vehicle. Estimate the specific power and manoeuvrability, as well as the maximum speed forwards and backwards.''

Nevertheless the CV9030FIN is a nimble vehicle with a great torque that lets it come to its maximum speed fast, although it can feel a bit sluggish when stock. It is not the fastest, but it can still put a challenge into other enemy vehicles that are usually slower than it. The speed forward can reach 70km/h and 46km/h in reverse which lets it retreat quickly if needed. The 625hp (when upgraded) is great as it lets the 9030FIN to accelerate very quickly despite having a increased weight.

The CV9030FIN is a good IFV worthy of its name. It has a large learning curve but when mastered it's a perfect faster-paced tank. When stock, it is a hard vehicle to play as it is slow for being an IFV, but faster than an average MBT. You will not be able to pen any fronts unless it is lighter vehicles like or angled, or sides.

Refrain from creating a "guide" - do not impose a single point of view but instead give the reader food for thought. Describe the most dangerous enemies and give recommendations on fighting them. The gun on the CV9030FIN is also better in some ways in comparison to its brethren as it has a machine-fed magazine that lets you fire more than the autoloading-mechanism on the 9040s. This lets you fire for longer although giving you a lower ROF.

When upgraded, the 9030FIN sports a great engine, but be warned about the rather loud engine as it can be heard pretty easily. Therefore there should be careful planning before flanking and be wary about where you are. A good positioned CV9030 can take out many enemies if executed right.

'''Leopard 1 (1A1, 1A5, Italian Leopards, etc)''' has a relatively weak frontal plate, which can be penetrated using the APFSDS round, but with the APDS, you should aim for the turret cheeks which will hopefully kick out the crew in the turret, or at least the breach. You can also try and go for the turret ring. If the Leopard is angled, shoot the front of the side which will usually go thru and either completely disable the Leopard or damage it severely.

'''T-55, T-64, T-62, T-72 etc and most soviet vehicles''' have a relatively slow turret speed, which can be utilised, BUT they have a decent agility so that should be taken into account. On paper, the 9030FIN can penetrate the frontal turret of the T-55, just beside the gun, and maybe even the rest of the soviet MBTs, but this is up to the player to decide if its worth trying. Soviet tanks are trickier to deal with although not impossible. Flanking should be a priority when dealing with these, but taking out the gun is a priority if flanking is not possible. If their side is against you, the ammo can be shot which is exactly on the center of the soviet tank, a bit lower down-but may not explode. The chances are larger that it does explode.

'''Soviet light tanks''' are easy to take out, as they do not have that much armour either, but beware their fast-firing auto cannons. Your engine might take those shots, but you have to shoot them down fast. The 2S38 is one of the most dangerous, but with patience and using this vehicles decent canon and maneuverability  you should be able to out-manouver it.  But the best thing is to wait for it and ambush them as this uses the canons great accuracy.

'''American MBTS and lights''' are almost the same as the German ones, if they are angled, towards you, shoot their sides as it will most of the time knock out important components and usually the engine, which then lets you flank them. Heavier MBTs like the M1A1 etc that can sometimes be seen at this range are tougher to take out when angled, but their gun can be taken out relatively easily.

Usage in battles

Describe the tactics of playing in the vehicle, the features of using vehicles in the team and advice on tactics. Refrain from creating a "guide" - do not impose a single point of view but instead give the reader food for thought. Describe the most dangerous enemies and give recommendations on fighting them. If necessary, note the specifics of the game in different modes (AB, RB, SB).

Pros and cons

Pros:

  • Amazing vertical guidance for both main gun and machine gun
  • Magazine fed gun instead of single shells like on the CV9040 variants
  • Engine block at the front of the vehicle can tank some damage
  • APFSDS has decent penetration which allows the tank to penetrate the sides and backs of most tanks

Cons:

  • Thermals and APFSDS are Rank III modifications which require some time to get
  • .50 cal fire can penetrate the back of the vehicle
  • Mediocre acceleration, takes rather long to get to the top speed
  • Has only one turret-fixed 7.62 mm machine gun, rendering it useless against targets when the turret is knocked out
