'''Air matches :'''

Climb and target bases; if you have remaining bombs or not enough to destroy more, bombing static targets such as AA and howitzers is the most simple tactic. You can also aim for light convoys if you are confident in hitting them accurately, preferably on straight roads, where you can drop multiple bombs.

'''Mixed battles :'''

With the small explosive mass, aim for light or open-top vehicles, such as SPAA, wich are vulnerable to any kind of explosives. To maximise the chances of getting kills, drop the majority, if not all, of the bombs in straight streets (in a 'carpet bombing' tactic) and predictable paths.

Description

The 50 kg D.T. No.2 is a French bombe made in forged steel. The tail consists of four vanes fastened to the tail cone, strengthened between the vanes by sheet metal struts. It's mainly yellow, with markings painted on the body, about the type of filling, year of filling, source and "F de culot" (for "Fusée de culot", meaning "Tail fuse")

General info

Bomb characteristics
Mass 55.7 kg
Explosive mass 19 kg
Explosive type TNT
Maximum armour penetration 64 mm
Armour destruction radius 2 m
Fragment dispersion radius 62 m

Effective damage

Describe the type of damage produced by this type of bomb (high explosive, splash damage, etc.)

Comparison with analogues

Give a comparative description of bombs that have firepower equal to this weapon.

Usage in battles

The D.T. N°2 is a small bomb with relatively small explosive mass, so it's not advised to drop just one at a time. However, its small size means a lot will be able to be carried into battle, allowing to perform carpet bombing, launching multiple bombs over an area to maximise the damage.

Pros and cons

Pros:

  • Can be carried in large quantities
  • Effective in CAS as it often meets reserve vehicles

Cons:

  • Almost useless if used individually
  • Less effective against heavy pillboxes and armoured vehicles

History

Examine the history of the creation and combat usage of the weapon in more detail than in the introduction. If the historical reference turns out to be too long, take it to a separate article, taking a link to the article about the weapon and adding a block "/ History" (example: https://wiki.warthunder.com/(Weapon-name)/History) and add a link to it here using the main template. Be sure to reference text and sources by using <ref></ref>, as well as adding them at the end of the article with <references />.
