Description
The Scotti-Isotta Franchini mod.1939 was an anti-aircraft cannon that was first designed in 1932. The design is not actually documented as being in naval use, unlike the 20 mm/65 Breda and the 20 mm/70 Oerlikon 3S. The Scotti was the second anti-aircraft gun of the 20 mm calibre but was overall inferior to both the Breda and the Oerlikon. It was also produced in fewer numbers as production simplifications didn't come until 1942 - too late for Italy who would surrender a year later.
