It is one of the strongest armored helicopter cabins in the game, making it able to withstand multiple hits from small machine guns. However, armor is inefficient when facing heavy caliber anti-air such as 12.7 mm machine gun fire and higher caliber autocannons; missiles are not excluded. It has access to a high amount of countermeasures, nothing new in Russian helicopters. It has access to x128 countermeasures that are slaved to the Missile Alert Warning. They are particularily useful when facing IR guided missiles from various threats. However, carrying chaff in these pods are useless as chaff is not able to counter ground based radars because of the nature of ground based radars and their working. It is, however, able to be used when facing SARH and ARH missiles such as the AIM-7 Sparrow and AIM-54 Phoenix. As with all helicopters, the best armor is to remain hidden and at stand-off distance, using buildings or enviormental cover to protect you from radars, IRST and visual contact which will then escalate to engagement. | |

Description
The Mi-28NM is a rank VII Soviet attack helicopter with a battle rating of 11.0 (AB/SB) and 12.0 (RB). It was introduced in Update "Ground Breaking". Also known as 'Havoc', it is the successor of the legendary Mi-24 Hind in the gunship role, featuring much better combat systems for the task. It is an upgrade of the previous Mi-28N with better weapon systems, enhanced NVD and a surface-search radar.

It is a very energy retention capable helicopter, which has its pros and cons. History
Describe the history of the creation and combat usage of the helicopter in more detail than in the introduction. If the historical reference turns out to be too long, take it to a separate article, taking a link to the article about the vehicle and adding a block "/History" (example: https://wiki.warthunder.com/(Vehicle-name)/History) and add a link to it here using the main
template. Be sure to reference text and sources by using <ref></ref>
, as well as adding them at the end of the article with <references />
. This section may also include the vehicle's dev blog entry (if applicable) and the in-game encyclopedia description (under === In-game description ===
, also if applicable).
