+ | == Map page names == | ||
+ | |||
+ | Hi there, | ||
+ | I had an inquiry about the standardization of ground forces map pages: some of them (e.g. Port Novorossiysk) are titled as they appear in-game, while others (e.g. Abandoned Factory (Ground Forces) have "Ground Forces" added in parenthesis even though there is no other page with that name. Is there a standard for this? I would think that the parenthetical addition is only necessary for maps whose names are the same as some other element as the game, e.g. Stalingrad (both an air and ground map) or Japan (both a nation and ground map). --U36070063 (talk) 02:21, 30 March 2022 (UTC)
+ | : Yes, it was used to disambiguate between both maps carrying the same name. There is no defined standard at the moment. --U44629479 (talk) 18:44, 31 March 2022 (UTC)

+ | Hey, I saw you've been editing the page, even protecting and I believe, implementing some of my historical addition.
+ | |||
+ | I was wondering how I can put this image, https://wiki.warthunder.com/File:T-72M2_Moderna.png, into the page as the flagship image, for the "garage" view? I haven't been able to figure it out. - U118804652 (talk) 22:55, 7 April 2022 (UTC)
+ | :I did it for you. To add a garage image, You have to name it according to the expected filename (GarageImage_Vehiclename.jpg/png) in the Specs-card. I just made my talk page, I used the templates you had on yours, I hope that's alright, but if you'd like to take a look at it and do anything, I'm not sure if there is a norm of if the contents are automatic, please feel free to improve it!

+ | == Sound files on wiki and RWR ==
+ | |||
+ | Hello. | ||
+ | |||
+ | There was a request on forum to add some RWR aviation lists to the wiki some months ago (https://forum.warthunder.com/index.php?/topic/541328-rwr-list-suggestion/), I may or may not actually make one since I have some time to kill, but I wanted to dump it somewhere into https://wiki.warthunder.com/Category:Countermeasures and add some fluff to it if possible.
+ | |||
+ | By fluff I mean a picture of it working and some noise examples. (I know devs rework noises every other month but internal noises stayed the same for the most part (I think so anyway?)
+ | |||
+ | Is that okay and is there a policy on sound files on wiki anyway? --U42773747 (talk) 17:11, 29 April 2022 (UTC)

+ | :After deliberation, you can create a page Radar warning receiver about RWR containing the infos you mentioned (name, planes, sound files). + | == Reverting changes to a page and then making changes with the majority of those changes yourself? ==
+ | |||
+ | This seems like rather scummy behavior. Yes, you're a moderator, good for you. However, A) leaving template comments on the page after it's no longer a TEMPLATE and is filled out is just against general wiki etiquette, which apparently you seem very fond of. B) Reverting changes rather than simply removing what you dislike or disagree with is okay in EXTREME or cases of obvious abuse or when something is just blatantly and objectively wrong, but even then, it's still bad wiki etiquette to just reverse them whole-cloth and then, even worse, copy someone else's work as your own edit, making it seem as though you yourself have made those changes.
+ | |||
+ | Additionally, just because you are a mod should not mean you have carte blanche to just remove someone's work because you disagree with it. In particular, the portion on the Kh-23M page where it says Effective Damage is far more suitable for "Battle Usage", which is what the paragraph under "Effective Damage" describes. I suppose there is an argument one could make, but even so, it's not clear-cut enough to just unilaterally remove someone's work, move it back, and then effectively plagiarize what they wrote to make yourself look better.
+ | |||
+ | It genuinely seems like you want to control the entire site by yourself. Actions like you've done in this instance seriously discourage people (and based on your talk page alone, this is NOT an isolated incident, either) from wanting to bother spending their time contributing, when one uppity mod might come along and without any discussion in the talk page, not only change it but revert it completely then use the changes that person made as if they were their own, ensuring that YOUR change history far outweighs anyone else's. Frankly, it's disgusting behavior. --U86844506 (talk) 19:30, 4 September 2022 (UTC)

Talk page
Hello Colok76286, it will be better for people to use this talk page to contact you and post questions/information as all posts here are immediately viewable and do not require a moderator to approve the message which is necessary on the User page. You can use your user page to annotate areas you are working on (such as the torpedoes) and maybe provide status updates on what you are specifically working on (it's up to you it is your space to work with). Also, using the talk page alerts you when you log back in that someone has left a new message for you, whereas this does not happen with the User Page. Good luck working with the torpedoes, they do need a little love and there is a lot of good information out there about them. -AN_TRN_26 (talk) 12:21, 29 January 2020 (UTC)
Award Request images
Hello there! First of all, thank you for all the edits you've been doing thus far on the Wiki. I was looking through all the past edits in the last month, and noticed all the image work you and Jareel did. Given that many of the requested/missing award images are now up, do you still need the original award images?
Water multistrike--Inceptor57 (talk) 07:32, 7 February 2020 (UTC)
- Hello, I don't need the pictures I uploaded anymore. You can totally delete them. --Colok76286 (talk) 11:32, 7 February 2020 (UTC)
Tank mobility
Hi! Thank you for your hard work but I basically made all the edits you've done obsolete. The wiki has a database with the tank weights, max speed, and spaded engine horsepowers(you can see them in the sidebar) so I made a template that taps into that and generated everything aside from stock engine power and addon armor weight. If you want to switch to the template then use --blastedryan (talk) 16:24, 7 February 2020 (UTC)
- That's even better. Thanks. --Colok76286 (talk) 21:07, 7 February 2020 (UTC)
- I don't think anyone has done any major errorchecking on the numbers. So if it's just 1 off like for max speed, I'd give it a pass as a rounding issue. If it's more than that send a message to the wiki admins. In the mean time you can overwrite the numbers with the parameters shown here Template:TankMobility--blastedryan (talk) 15:49, 9 February 2020 (UTC)
Wow, great job, congrats on finally managing to add the template to every single tank page! We really appreciate the work you've put in here! - DnaGonite (talk) 11:10, 25 March 2020 (UTC)
- There is something weird going on with the tank mobility tables, as they seem to only have stock engine power now and last field says "division by 0". You might want to take a look at this? --bangerland (talk) 06:25, 26 July 2021 (UTC)

Indexing
Thanks for updating the information regarding the quotation/question mark issue. I did not realize the question marks caused problems with indexing, good to know, I learn something new every day! Thanks! --AN_TRN_26 (talk) 21:19, 8 March 2020 (UTC)
- Yes, I tried searching for tables with missing values replaced by ?.??, ??.??, ??? or ???? but the Wiki search engine returned no results. On the other hand, when searching for missing values filled with _.__, __._, __.__, __. ___ or ____, the search results were correct. --Colok76286 (talk) 22:40, 8 March 2020 (UTC)

About References and sources; and user-created video guides.
Hey there, it has come to my attention that one of the many topics that need some polishing (or filling as we'd call it back in the day) is torpedoes in general: first off, standardizing sources to simply Wikipedia (nowadays it works just well enough!) or rather other kind of military sources? (for example and as many people do, simply source the references with Wikipedia's sources instead of citing Wikipedia itself as the source). Second, I believe it would be a great addition but rather high-effort to make video demonstrations of torpedo launches on aircraft, but that would need streamlining for the how-to as well (with technicalities such as video format, size, duration, which aircraft to choose in regards to torpedo models that can be used by several different planes, etc etc.); but I would not simply go and do it before a good format to follow. I invite anyone who wants to discuss that matter to my talk page as well: but I hope it is a topic that wants to be discussed. Keep up the good work! I personally will focus on British torpedo pages for now; simply because it's the nation I personally have the most fleshed out. --Knirhim@psn (talk) 09:28, 10 April 2021 (UTC)
Torpedoes
I will try and create a template for torpedo specs (Explosive mass, speed, etc), will post here for approval or modification (don't worry, I'm very used to waiting for mods to look onto templates) while I note down British torpedoes' stats ingame. --Knirhim@psn (talk) 10:06, 10 April 2021 (UTC)
- Templates for torpedoes already exist: WSP Table Templates#Ammunition, see the table "Torpedo characteristics". Here is an example implemented: MTB-1 1 series#Additional armament --Colok76286 (talk) 11:32, 10 April 2021 (UTC)
- Thank you! I should've checked in first: then would be adding it to torpedo pages be okay (as I plan to)? Rather than it belonging only on the vehicle pages, it should be on the torpedo's page as well in my opinion, as for example, it is present on Naval vehicles, but isn't included for Air vehicles (In this case, the MTB-1 uses the 18 inch Mark XII (450 mm) but the other users of the torpedo, such as the Beaufighter Mk VIc#Suspended Armament).
Events
Thanks for your comprehensive events summary, it's ridiculous this is not official part of the wiki. Since the content of your Summer event page has not been approved, could you please include the template here also? vEEtEE (talk) 10:45, 10 May 2021 (UTC)
Regarding your recent reversion on "F-4C Phantom II"
You didn't state any reason for the reversion, so I was just looking to see why it was done so it might not happen again. Did you take issue with the performance facts I listed? From my use of the aircraft in game that is the reality of how it performs. If you have it unlocked you could try it out yourself in a test flight (or a match if you want to blow the lions), it really isn't able to climb to its listed altitude or achieve its max speed on arcade, realistic, or simulator. --tookatee (talk) 04:17, 24 May 2021 (UTC)
- I asked for a 2nd opinion and most of your edits have been approved. Two points to keep in mind for future edits: 1) do not modify table templates and 2) if you find that a plane does not perform like it should historically, please file a bug report. Thank you, --Colok76286 (talk) 11:20, 24 May 2021 (UTC)
Removal of ammo rack information on the Ka-Chi
I noticed you removed the information I filled in on the ammo racks of the Ka-Chi, I'm new to the wiki and I was wondering why you did this. I got the information myself from in-game (although it crashed my computer after I got the numbers on the first one so I decided not to continue), and I'm very confident the information I added on them was correct. Thanks! --Fjorge (talk) 14:13, 13 August 2021 (UTC)
- We don't accept partially filled tables for ammoracks, only fully filled tables. I filled the table and included your remarks. --Colok76286 (talk) 14:36, 13 August 2021 (UTC)
Undoing changes
Hi, I have made many changes for the better in the wiki, but they keep getting undone. I would like to know why.--AngryDoggo2222 (talk) 08:46, 11 September 2021 (UTC)
- Hello, please send one of the wiki team a PM on the war thunder forums or myself, we will happily explain but we will not disclose any moderation action on a public page. Have a great weekend! --patrioticalien (talk) 13:55, 11 September 2021 (UTC)
Image source
Hello, Colok76286, sorry I did not get to you earlier. In regards to the question that you had asked me earlier regarding the two images I submitted for addition to the page on the 75 mm M6 cannon, I regret that I do not know where the images came from or what their copyright status is, as they were in a personal folder I had for images regarding the M24 Chaffee. I did a reverse search on the image of the cutaway of the M24 Chaffee's turret and came to this website http://www.m24chaffee.com/. I reverse-searched the other image and did not find anything. I understand the issues with using images with unknown copyright status in different countries and apologize for the inconvenience in dealing with my mistake. Regards, --LightningFerret (talk) 00:06, 02 October 2021 (UTC)
Garage Image
Hello, dunno where to ask this, but I noticed the ZBD86 garage image is outdated (shows the old bmp1p mod), and I was going to replace it, but I didn't know if I'm supposed to use a stock image or a fully upgraded one as the model changes, can you clarify? Thanks. --R_nminbiY_n (talk) 15:00, 10 October 2021 (UTC)
- Hi, you can add 2 garage images (1 stock and 1 with the upgrade) like vehicles with add-on armour (Magach 3 (USA) for example). --Colok76286 (talk) 15:36, 10 October 2021 (UTC)
Type 59 copyright status
As for your message about the picture posted on the Type 59's page, it's been on my computer for some time, the original image came from a Chinese article on the Type 59 in 2018 or so, I've never seen it before then. Here's the page I found it on, as far back as I could find the image. Sorry for not responding on my page too, I'm not too familiar with using the Wiki beyond editing! --OddPhenomena(talk) 16:08, 13 October 2021 (UTC)
Tooltips?
Hello, a bit of a weird question, but does WT wiki allow for the use of tooltips, and if so, how do I use them? --R_nminbiY_n (talk) 21:27, 18 November 2021 (UTC)
- Have you tried Template:Annotation? You can see them used in this page, under the section Ammunition. --Colok76286 (talk) 22:05, 18 November 2021 (UTC)
- Ah, that's exactly what I'm looking for, thanks! --R_nminbiY_n (talk) 22:16, 18 November 2021 (UTC)
Type 16 revisions
Hello Colok76286, thanks for the revisions on the Type 16, one of the major ones was italicizing in the armor table, I was wondering how you managed to do that as I couldn't figure it out. Also, where did you find the 150 mm plate on the Type 16? I took a look around and couldn't find anything that thick on it using the armor tab in the hangar. Again thanks for the revisions and for any information you can provide. --Ruse_tiger (talk) 20:36, 20 November 2021 (UTC)
- If you edit with the Visual Editor, there is an option Italic in the toolbar. If you edit the source, you can create Italic with 2 apostrophe () markers at the beginning and the end of the section. For the 150 mm protection, it's the composite screen displayed in orange right under the 5 mm light green section. It is hidden between the 5 mm and the 35 mm sections and you can only display it from the side. --Colok76286 (talk) 20:55, 20 November 2021 (UTC)
- Thanks, I honestly don't think I ever would have found that plate, glad you knew about it and added it. --Ruse_tiger (talk) 23:20 20 November 2021 (UTC)
P-51 Family page
So I edited the A-26 (Family) page because it was written and laid out really weirdly and rather unprofessionally, especially compared to the other vehicle family pages. I noticed the P-51 (Family) page was the same way, but right at the top there was a comment "Please do not change this page in anyway". So, are those pages protected or something, and I should've just kept them in their current condition? --R_nminbiY_n (talk) 15:43, 18 December 2021 (UTC)

Creating pages
Sorry to bother you but I have noticed there is no page for the Dover Strait map so I wanted to create one, I was wondering If I was allowed to do this or not. --The_M6A1 (talk) 18:46, 1 February 2022 (UTC)
- There are currently no pages for air maps but you can create one if you want to. You can get inspiration from a ground map page like Sweden (Ground Forces). The wisest would be to start the project on your userpage and create the page later once it is finalised. --Colok76286 (talk) 14:04, 2 February 2022 (UTC)

Hi there, I had an inquiry about the standardization of ground forces map pages: some of them (e.g. --kleinerPanzer (talk) 02:21, 30 March 2022 (UTC)
- Yes, it was used to disambiguate between both maps carrying the same name. There is no defined standard at the moment. --Colok76286 (talk) 18:44, 31 March 2022 (UTC)
How to add my image to the T-72M2 Moderna's page
Hey, I saw you've been editing the page, even protecting and I believe, implementing some of my historical addition.
I was wondering how I can put this image, https://wiki.warthunder.com/File:T-72M2_Moderna.png, into the page as the flagship image, for the "garage" view? I haven't been able to figure it out. - OfficialMorata (talk) 22:55, 7 April 2022 (UTC)
- I did it for you. To add a garage image, You have to name it according to the expected filename (GarageImage_Vehiclename.jpg/png) in the Specs-card. You can read the code when using the "Edit source" button. --Colok76286 (talk) 23:06, 7 April 2022 (UTC)
- Thank you, I appreciate it. I'm new so I wasn't sure what to name it, I tried tinkering with it, the source on the specs-card, to get the image in, but to no avail. I just decided I'd wait for someone to take care of it. I just made my talk page, I used the templates you had on yours, I hope that's alright, but if you'd like to take a look at it and do anything, I'm not sure if there is a norm of if the contents are automatic, please feel free to improve it!
- There is no standard to follow for userpages, you can do as you wish. Just don't post personal information for your own safety. --Colok76286 (talk) 23:21, 7 April 2022 (UTC)

Sound files on wiki and RWR
Hello.
There was a request on forum to add some RWR aviation lists to the wiki some months ago (https://forum.warthunder.com/index.php?/topic/541328-rwr-list-suggestion/), I may or may not actually make one since I have some time to kill, but I wanted to dump it somewhere into https://wiki.warthunder.com/Category:Countermeasures and add some fluff to it if possible.
By fluff I mean a picture of it working and some noise examples. (I know devs rework noises every other month but internal noises stayed the same for the most part (I think so anyway?)
Is that okay and is there a policy on sound files on wiki anyway? --bangerland (talk) 17:11, 29 April 2022 (UTC)
- After deliberation, you can create a page Radar warning receiver about RWR containing the infos you mentioned (name, planes, sound files). There is no specific policy about sound files on the wiki, given how few there are. --Colok76286 (talk) 22:57, 2 May 2022 (UTC)
Fury Mk I article.
When you do not like the article, it is better to write why, but not to delete it! Why didn’t you deserve my addition to the article?
- I answered on the forum. Check your private messages. --Colok76286 (talk) 09:18, 15 June 2022 (UTC)
Reverting changes to a page and then making changes with the majority of those changes yourself?
This seems like rather scummy behavior.
Additionally, just because you are a mod should not mean you have carte blanche to just remove someone's work because you disagree with it.
It genuinely seems like you want to control the entire site by yourself. --Chemputer (talk) 19:30, 4 September 2022 (UTC)
- I whole heartedly agree. I am fairly new and sometimes inactive but of my edits which I thought were fairly good were removed with no explanation except… updated since my last vist —-GenericEggGuy (talk) 12:07, 6 September 2022 (UTC)
