Description
The KwK37 (75 mm) is the main cannon for the early Pz.IV tanks, StuG III A and Nb.Fz. at rank one and the Pz.IV F1 and Pz.III N and rank two.
The KwK37 (75 mm) was a mounted infantry support cannon until it was replaced by the KwK 40 (75 mm) later in the war as Soviet armour became much tougher to fight.
This gun is quite useful, being able to penetrate almost any enemy's armour at its battle rating and features a great combo with a quick ammunition reload.

Comparison with analogues
- The Howitzer M2 (75 mm) would be the closest comparison to the Kwk 37 (75 mm), despite that it is much weaker, receiving much weaker shells and having a shorter velocity.
- K51 L/24 (75 mm) has the same performance.
- KwK44 L/36.5 (75 mm) has the same performance.
- SA35 L/17 (75 mm) AP round is much superior to the Kwk 37 (75 mm).
- APX (75 mm) AP round is the same as the SA35 L/17 (75 mm) but with extra velocity.
Usage in battles
The KwK37 (75 mm) is a low-velocity HEAT launcher, which forces it to only be effective at close range but is compensated with having quick reload and the HEAT having good penetration. The Kwk 37 (75 mm) is made even more effective with the ability to hull break some notable tanks around the BR, some examples are all BTs, all LVTs, most AA (mainly trucks) and more.
Pros and cons
Pros:
- Fast reload
- HEAT has great penetration
- Has the ability to hull break some notable tanks around the BR of the tank that has it equipped
Cons:
- AP round has low penetration
- Gun velocity is quite low
History
Examine the history of the creation and combat usage of the weapon in more detail than in the introduction. If the historical reference turns out to be too long, take it to a separate article, taking a link to the article about the weapon and adding a block "/History" (example: https://wiki.warthunder.com/(Weapon-name)/History) and add a link to it here using the main
template. Be sure to reference text and sources by using <ref></ref>
, as well as adding them at the end of the article with <references />
.
Media
Excellent additions to the article would be video guides, screenshots from the game, and photos.
