Description

Vehicles equipped with this weapon

General info

The 15 cm/60 SK C/25 has a decent rate of fire being able to put a shell out every 9.75 seconds with a stock crew and every 7.5 seconds with an ace gunner crew.

The gun was designed with a loose barrel, jacket and breech piece that had a vertical sliding breechblock. The naval gun weighed in at 11,970 kg, with a barrel length of 8.57 m, and a muzzle velocity of 960 m/s. The guns have enough elevation to reach any target on the given naval maps while also having enough depression to get any PT boat that might be getting to close for comfort, that is if the secondary armament doesn't deal with them first.

Available ammunition

The 15 cm/60 SK C/25 naval gun could carry a base-fused HE shell, nose-fused HE with a ballistic cap, and a base-fused armour-piercing shell with a ballistic cap. With a decent muzzle velocity of 960 m/s for HE and APCBC and 835 for SAPBC and HE-TF, shells won't take to long to reach the desired target.

  • Spgr. L/4.4 Bdz (SAPBC) - It has a gradual drop off in penetration in terms of distance and angle with 115 mm of penetration at 1,000 m. It's best used against lighter targets such as destroyers and other light cruisers.
  • Spgr. L/4.5 Kz (HE) - It maintains penetration over distance and angle with 37 mm of penetration all around and 3.91 kg of TNT equivalent. It's best when used against very light targets such a PT boats that might be getting to close or any of the coastal fleet ships.
  • Spgr. L/4.5 Zt.Z (HE-TF) - It has lower muzzle velocity and is slightly lighter than Spgr. L/4.5 Kz HE, as well as having a time fuse that is best used against planes or any other air target.
  • Pzgr. L/3.7 (APCBC) - It has a gradual drop off in penetration with distance and angle with 281 mm of penetration at 1,000 m. It's best used against heavy cruisers but practically useless against any dreadnoughts at range.

Comparison with analogues

Give a comparative description of cannons/machine guns that have firepower equal to this weapon.

Usage in battles

Describe the cannon/machine gun in the game - its distinctive features, tactics of usage against notable opponents. Please don't write a "guide" - do not impose a single point of view, but give the reader food for thought.

Pros and cons

Summarise and briefly evaluate the weaponry in terms of its characteristics and combat effectiveness. Mark pros and cons as a list.

Pros:

Cons:

History

Examine the history of the creation and combat usage of the weapon in more detail than in the introduction. If the historical reference turns out to be too long, take it to a separate article, taking a link to the article about the weapon and adding a block "/History" (example: https://wiki.warthunder.com/(Weapon-name)/History) and add a link to it here using the main template. Be sure to reference text and sources by using <ref></ref>, as well as adding them at the end of the article with <references />.

Media

Excellent additions to the article would be video guides, screenshots from the game, and photos.
