Description
The Mk 11 mod 5 cannon was fitted into the Mk 4 Mod 0 aicraft gun pod that could be fitted to the bomb rack. It was developed by the US navy and used in planes like the A-4, F-4 or OV-10. Its main use is for an air to ground attacks. It was extensively used during the Vietnam conflict.

Mk 11 mod 5 cannon's caliber is 20 and it can fire up too 4000 rounds per minute, their muzzle velocity being 1012 m/s, which is also the same for all ammunition types. Its one second burst mass is 7.33 kg. The AP shells can penetrate up to 33mm of armor. The HE shell carries 14 gram of explosive, a few hits should be able to destroy a wing or heavily damage any other part of the plane. Maximum effective range of this cannon is up to 2,000 meters.
