Kan m/41 (75 mm)
Contents
Description
The Kan m/41 is a tank cannon employed by the Swedish Armoured Forces, or Pansertruppena, during WW2. It has a caliber of 75mm and fires a variety of shells. It's main use is against armoured targets, such as tanks. Later, the cannons and even their respective turrets would be mounted in the ground and used as stationary anti-tank batteries.

General info
The Kan m/41 is a 75 mm anti-tank cannon. While its penetration is fairly average for its tier, the APHE shell is quite lackluster and may struggle to penetrate even M3 Lee's from the front. Additionally, there is no stabilizer of any kind, which can prove quite frustrating in close-quarters encounters. However, it does include a very nice -15 degrees of gun depression that can be useful on maps such as Kuban.
Available ammunition
- AP
- The AP, or Armour Piercing shell is the first available for use with the Kan m/41. It has 85 mm of penetration and fairly good performance at range. :Unfortunately, that's where the good end and the bad begins. Because it is only AP and does not include any caps, its angle performance is not great. :The post pen is also quite poor, as there is no explosive filling.
- HE
- The second stock shell the Kan m/41 typically receives is the HE, or High Explosive shell. The pen is quite poor, only 9 mm, and thus should not be :used against anything past an SPAA or open top. However, with those two types of vehicles, it can cause massive damage, always knocking them out due to overpressure.
- APBC
- The APBC, or Armour Piercing Ballistic Capped shell is, surprisingly, worse than its stock predecessor. While the differences are minimal, it :consistently has 1 mm of pen less than the AP round through different ranges, with no real benefits. Even the 10 m/s more muzzle velocity is useless.
- APHE
- The APHE, or Armour Piercing High Explosive shell is probably the most useful shell available. It can easily one-shot a tank and is more than enough :to penetrate the Panzer variants. This comes at a cost. It decreases the pen down a whopping 22 mm down from the other AP rounds, meaning it can no longer front pen the M3 Lee. This is enough to make one consider taking APHE over normal AP.
