RBU-2500
Contents
Description
The RBU-2500, also known as the Smerch-3, is a Russian-made anti-submarine rocket launcher system that was developed in the late 1970s. The system was designed to replace the earlier RBU-1200 system and was widely used by the Soviet Navy during the Cold War era. The RBU-2500 was highly effective in detecting and neutralizing enemy submarines, making it a crucial weapon system in naval warfare.
The RBU-2500 launcher system can fire up to 12 213mm rockets, each containing a depth charge. The rockets are fired in rapid succession, creating a barrage of depth charges that can quickly neutralize an enemy submarine. The launcher is typically mounted on the deck of a ship and is controlled by an operator who uses a sighting system to aim the rockets at the target.
In War Thunder, the RBU-2500 is featured on several different naval vessels, including the Blagorodnyy, Karl Marx, Neustrashimy the Rosomacha and the SKR-1, all of which were used by the Soviet Navy.
