Anyone know where to find/calculate normalisation & ricochet stats?
Yes I have all the answers you seek(PM me). Although for aircraft guns those stats are basically worthless since you're firing hundreds of rounds so even if 90% of your rounds bounce you're still dealing significant damage.--blastedryan (talk) 18:16, 24 May 2019 (UTC)
Firefox and ▃Magach 3 (ERA)
- What version of Firefox are you using? I am using 67.0 (64-bit) and am not having any issues. There have been known issues in the past where Firefox does break something while Chrome and IE display it correctly. If this continues we can pass up the issue to the Wiki developers and they can look into what might be the issue (usually a minor code fix takes care of the problem). Let us know if you see it here or on any other pages again utilising the specific characters. AN_TRN_26 (talk) 12:17, 1 June 2019 (UTC)
- I'm also on 67.0 (64-bit). It's quite sporadic and seems to have stopped happening on the wiki, but directly searching up the symbol "U+F059" (or any of the other private-use characters) in Google breaks the results page that follows. I believe all the other nation symbols are fine since the characters that they're mapped from unicode symbols that are actively supported by Firefox. Although as I'm writing this the symbol now seems to work elsewhere as well, so I guess I'll consider the issue resolved for now until it pops up again... DnaGonite (talk) 12:50, 1 June 2019 (UTC)
NR-30 (30 mm) Update
- Was the change from Type 30-1 (30 mm) to NR-30 (30 mm) in the last update? Wiki stat card under Russian MiG-19 is listed as Type 30-1 (30 mm) while the German version is the NR-30 (30 mm). Should there maybe be two pages (not sure if same gun just different names or if they are two separate gun types). I hesitate to approve the redirect until this is clarified. I don't have access to the game to see if this info reflects on the ingame stat cards or if they are showing something different than the wiki stat cards. AN_TRN_26 (talk) 14:47, 18 July 2019 (UTC)
- The game still uses "Type 30-1 (30 mm)", but I added the redirect because the NR-30 (30 mm) page talks about the Type 30-1 (though very briefly), and they appear to have exactly the same characteristics and parameters (RoF, muzzle velocity, available belts and composition, etc), so I believe they are the same gun but under different names. However, this has not been officially endorsed/contradicted yet.
- Ok, for now, I think it will be best to leave them as two separate pages (that way if someone is searching specifically for the "Type 30-1" it will come up. Easiest thing will probably be to put an "About template" at the top of the page much like the family/disambiguation pages that way it will identify that they are different pages, but similar if not identical guns (other than the name). nvd list
I've seen the list of NVD you applied to that night vision page, is it 100% accurate? Planning to go and check all the ammunition lists due to APHE change (as well as others), might as well add optic tables everywhere, but going to apply the expanded table where it is applicable, for the base information filling was going to use the list. Although, if you somehow also have resolution numbers somewhere that'd be amazing to use. --bangerland (talk) 13:41, 18 October 2019 (UTC)
- I believe the list is correct, but there may be a couple of inaccuracies and I am currently unable to check any of the vehicles. I will endeavour to correct any mistakes as soon as I find them though. As for resolution numbers, User:Flame2512 might be able to help you with that, otherwise I'll see what I can do in the next week or so. -DnaGonite (talk) 15:11, 18 October 2019 (UTC)
- I don't really fancy manually checking 150 + vehicles at the moment, and writing a program to do it would be a bit tricky (possible, but I'd need to sit down for quite a while and work it out). This image from Reddit should be mostly accurate for resolutions. All tanks and most helicopters have High noise NVDs, a few (top tier) helicopters have medium noise ones. Here's a list of tanks with IR search lights, all searchlights are range 1,400 m beam angle 8.2; with the exception of the chieftains, which are 1,500 m beam angle 15.3; and the panther 2 which is 600 m, beam angle 9.6. Hopefully that's enough info to get you started.--Flame2512 (talk) 20:11, 18 October 2019 (UTC)
- Seems legit, when i've got time i'll start bombing pages with what info we have around here. Everything else can be fixed later on anyway. Thanks. --bangerland (talk) 20:30, 18 October 2019 (UTC)

Ok, on a side note, i should also probably add an "instruction" part? Here is more universal one, but it's very long . If necessary cut it down. Should i just copy-paste it everywhere or make a special one for "just optics" tanks and "nvd equipped" tanks? It seems i'll have to, because both tables look drastically different.
//// EX1: Try to fill in the specifications of the tank optics. If you are having problems with it, refer to the optics gallery or Night vision pages for examples. Remember, not every tank has optic magnification specified in X-ray and each NVD can only be used from their designated point of view.
Try to explain how optics affect your gameplay on a tank: a comparsion to rival tanks of the rank is welcome. If the vehicle optic devices are unique in some way, or the way the optics are placed on a tank is affecting the gameplay in meaningful way, or damage to optics can disable some features or weapons of a tank, specify it here as well.
////
It should work if i drop the table there myself either way. Do note, that links on table itself must stay, because others may not really notice commented out links (or think that the header is just a header, not a link to a page).
It is also possible to be a lazy bag and force people to search for the table themselves, but it's not a very good idea IMO:
//// EX2: Check if the tank has night vision devices or not, then pick a suitable table to fill from the optics gallery. Attempt to find out gunner's sight magnification by looking at tank optics in X-ray preview. If neither of them say anything, try to estimate the zoom levels yourself, by using example pictures. If tank has night vision devices, attempt to estimate their quality by referring to specialized article. If optics placement or magnification seriously affects your gameplay, describe it. ////
Not sure. --bangerland (talk) 22:08, 18 October 2019 (UTC)
- Filled 2 pages in a way i see it working, if that's fine then i'll keep doing that everywhere. --bangerland (talk) 11:14, 19 October 2019 (UTC)
- The table looks fine, but the instructive comment seems a bit long, especially if you plan on putting it on every page. It may be better to have it in a central location (like Optics#For use around Wiki). I'll check with the higher-ups... -DnaGonite (talk) 11:21, 19 October 2019 (UTC)
- Kind of why i had this second example going, as it seemed at least same in length with default ones. I'll wait for now i guess.
- I don't think it's necessary to have instructions on how to get the information to make the table. The comments are usually instructing people on how to write the text to explain the context of the numbers. Instructions would be better off in a separate help page.--blastedryan (talk) 13:37, 19 October 2019 (UTC)
- The whole gig is for the reason 70% of optics do not have zoom level specified whatsoever. Even in relatively new china tree you cannot look it up until rank III, for some until rank VI. The NVD's have absolutely no context as of yet. I will shorten it up, though, as it seems to long even to me. --bangerland (talk) 11:17, 20 October 2019 (UTC)
- The directions look much better now. In regards to the missing zoom levels, generally the low tiers missing it have the base 3.5x(double check that number) zoom since their historical zoom is too low to be usable. The higher tier tanks missing zoom levels are probably old tanks that pre-date the system.--blastedryan (talk) 20:15, 20 October 2019 (UTC)

Tech tree pages
You recently reverted a series of my edits to aircraft tech tree pages. These edits corrected the color of premium aircraft buttons. Is there a reason for those buttons to be colored as researchable aircraft and not premium aircraft? thunderdog1138 (talk) 00:36, 5 November 2019 (UTC)
- The colours aren't so much "researchable" as "not premium/squadron". If you have a look at the in-game tech trees, you should see that the aircraft buttons you changed are the same colour as the researchable aircraft, but positioned in the premium section of the tech tree. -DnaGonite (talk) 01:05, 5 November 2019 (UTC)
- Thanks. Unfortunately, I don't have access to the game for reasons explaned on my user page. From now on, I will not edit in-game stats until I get access to the game. thunderdog1138 (talk) 01:24, 5 November 2019 (UTC)
