The 88 mm KwK36 is a [[Flak.37 (88 mm)]] gun modified to take up less space due to a different style recoil system. It was originally ordered to arm the Tiger I series of tanks with an 88 mm cannon. Later on, the [[KwK43 (88 mm)]] was developed, prototyped, and produced from the inspiration provided by the effectiveness of the {{PAGENAME}}.
