In 1946, the French decided it would be good to equip their army with a French-made light tank, and when a Frenchman decides to do something, he does it. The AMX-13 entered serial production just five years later. The vehicle stood out thanks to the unique construction of its oscillating turret, which made the AMX-13 one of the most original tanks in the entire history of tank building. But this wasn't done for the sake of appearance, this construction made it possible to fit an automatic loading mechanism for the cannon inside the vehicle. However, even a tank as unique as the AMX-13 eventually becomes out-of-date and it was removed from production in 1964. At the same time, it also began to acquire a large number of different upgrades. One of them was the model AMX-13 SS.11, which was equipped with four additional first-generation SS.11 ATGMs that could be installed on any turret components. As a result, this light tank got a kind of second wind and was able to be with the most modern tanks of the day.
