Work on the Puma infantry fighting vehicle began back in the early 2000s, and the first prototype appeared in 2005. Today it remains one of the most modern IFVs in the world. Krauss-Maffei Wegmann and Rheinmetall packed it with a host of technological solutions accumulated over the 20th century.
