The Eurofighter Tranche 3A is Italy’s latest variant of the Eurofighter and serves as the Aeronautica Militare’s primary multirole fighter aircraft. The Aeronautica Militare ordered the Tranche 3A standard Eurofighter equipped with the new CAPTOR-E Mk 0 AESA radar and other improvements in 2014, and the final Tranche 3A aircraft was delivered in 2020.

The F-2000A (AESA) was introduced in Update 2.53 “Line of Contact”. Building upon the previous F-2000A, the F-2000A (AESA) has a new CAPTOR-E AESA radar set. With its 100-degree gimbal limit, 200 km range, and fast scanning rate, the CAPTOR-E rectifies the shortcomings of the older mechanical CAPTOR-M radar on the F-2000A, Typhoon FGR.4, and EF-2000, and offers a more consistent experience when paired with the AIM-120 radar missiles. Additionally, the F-2000A (AESA) can also use the SPICE 250 guided bombs to destroy ground opponents from afar in mixed battles. However, the F-2000A (AESA) suffers from the less-than-ideal manoeuvrability of its AIM-120 missiles at short ranges, an issue shared by all other Eurofighters.
