History
The MK 103/38 was developed as an anti-aircraft twin-mount variant of the MK 103, a dual-purpose anti-armour and air-to-air autocannon developed by Germany in World War II. With the gradual loss of the Luftwaffe (German Air Force) starting in 1943, the Germans began aggressively developing new self-propelled anti-aircraft designs to counter the threat of Allied bombers.
